Johnson was moved to the 60-day DL on Monday, Bill Center of Padres.com reports.
San Diego's move opened a roster spot for the newly acquired Luis Sardinas. The team has yet to indicate when Johnson will return; however, he has yet to begin throwing since being diagnosed with an elbow strain.
