Orioles' Zac Lowther: Joins player pool

Lowther was added to the Orioles' player pool Friday.

Lowther will probably be working out at the Orioles' alternate training site for primarily developmental reasons, though it's not out of the question that he makes his big-league debut at some point down the stretch. He's yet to reach Triple-A, but he recorded a strong 2.55 ERA, backed by a 26.0 percent strikeout rate, in 26 starts for Double-A Bowie last season.
