Stevenson was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Monday, Dan Kolko of MASN Sports reports.
Stevenson is no longer needed as outfield depth with Jayson Werth (toe) back from the disabled list, so he'll head back to the Syracuse to continue his development. He struggled in his first stint with the Nationals, slashing .167/.245/.208 in 29 games. The 23-year-old could see more time in the majors after rosters expand, but he won't be in line for playing time unless Washington's outfield is hit with another string of injuries.
