The Mariners outrighted Zavala to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday.
The 31-year-old backstop was cast off the 40-man roster Friday but will stick around in the Seattle organization after clearing waivers. Over his three stints on the Mariners' active roster this season, Zavala slashed .154/.214/.282 across 43 plate appearances.
