Shortstop may be the position with an endless supply of young studs, but third base also has an impressive collection of high-end talent. Some of it's a little older, but as a general rule, corner infielders will have longer shelf lives than middle infielders.

Third base is a little light on high-end prospects, with the Phillies' Alec Bohm being a notable exception, but it's also likely to inherit some of shortstop's overflow in the years ahead. And in the meantime, you shouldn't be hurting for production. A whopping 16 players here have a "present value" rating of four or higher.

During Monday's Fantasy Baseball Today Podcast we talk third base for Dynasty, including Josh Donaldson, Alec Bohm and Miguel Sano. Keep up with us and everything baseball and subscribe here.

That's just one of the three factors I weigh most heavily when putting together these rankings:

  1. Present value: What a player is expected to be in 2020
  2. Future value: What his peak looks like and how much peak he has left
  3. Confidence rating: How confident I am in him meeting his immediate and long-term value

Each factor is measured on a 1-to-5 score, with five being the best, and a player's ranking is primarily determined by adding the scores. Ties typically go to the younger player, but personal preference plays a role as well. The distinctions become less evident further down the list, so at some point subjectivity has to reign.
