The Cardinals recalled Walker from Triple-A Memphis on Monday.

While Walker posted a pedestrian .747 OPS in 78 games with Memphis since being optioned to the minors April 24, he had finally found his footing lately, slashing .343/.400/.687 with five home runs over his last 75 plate appearances. Per Katie Woo of The Athletic, the Cardinals' initial plan is to use Walker mostly against left-handed pitching, although he could certainly play his way into starts versus righties, too. He will start in right field and bat seventh versus lefty Andrew Abbott and the Reds on Monday.
