Athletics' Jaycob Brugman: Will join Oakland on Friday

Brugman will be promoted to Oakland on Friday prior to the A's game against Tampa Bay, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Brugman is set to make his first trip up to the big leagues when the team officially announces his arrival Friday. The 25-year-old is hitting .288/.373/.364 with one home run and eight RBI at Triple-A Nashville this season, and has been touted as one of the top prospects in Oakland's organization. With a struggling outfield and a doubleheader slated for Saturday, the A's may choose to give Brugman a chance to shine this weekend.
