Athletics' Brent Rooker: Goes on paternity list

The Athletics placed Rooker on the paternity list Wednesday.

Rooker will miss between one and three games while he takes time away from the Athletics to welcome a new addition to his family. The Athletics recalled Armando Alvarez from Triple-A Las Vegas to provide an extra bat off the bench in the meantime, while Oakland could rotate some of its normal position players at Rooker's usual spot at designated hitter while Rooker is away.
