Draft Scouting Report
Fadil Diggs is a well-built EDGE defender with quality length and a smooth athletic profile. His ability to play with consistent pad level and lean stands out, and while his first-step quickness is average, he sustains his movement well into the backfield. His pass-rush arsenal relies on attacking the outside shoulder, often using rip moves to create leverage, though flexibility isn’t a defining trait in his game.
While his hand usage is inconsistent, Diggs shows effectiveness with his long-arm technique, swipe move and occasional spin. His speed-to-power conversion hints at untapped potential. He’s shown some natural movement skills in off-ball linebacker alignments but lacks high-end twitch and his change-of-direction skills can appear labored. As a run defender, he’s more of an edge-setter than a stack-and-shed guy. With refinement, Diggs' combination of size, length and movement skills could make him an intriguing developmental EDGE prospect.

Saints' Fadil Diggs: Edge depth joins Saints
The Saints selected Diggs in the seventh round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 254th overall.
Diggs starred at the NFL Combine with a 4.57 40-yard dash at 6-foot-4, 257 pounds, adding to a formidable college resume where he posted 14.0 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks across 12 games as a fifth-year senior at Syracuse. The Saints lack depth on the edge, but Diggs still needs to prove his coverage skills before he can be a dependable option. The 23-year-old projects as a situational blitzer for now.
