Draft Scouting Report
Cade Klubnik is an athletic, rhythm-based quarterback who operates with high efficiency when kept clean in the pocket. While he excels at quick-strike RPOs and designed rollouts, his performance often dips when forced to navigate a crowded pocket or throw on the move to his left. A respected leader and former top recruit, Klubnik offers dual-threat potential but must refine his decision-making and consistency under defensive pressure to thrive at the next level.
- High school: Won three straight state championships (2019–21) at Westlake High School (alma mater of Drew Brees and Nick Foles)
- Career: Fourth Clemson QB to surpass 11,000 yards of total offense; fifth to start at least 40 career games
- Highly efficient on designed rollouts to the right (64.7% completion).
- Excellent touch and layering on intermediate and second-level throws.
- Effective athlete in the RPO game and as a designed runner.
- Significant production drop when rolling left (-0.76 EPA per dropback).
- Vulnerable to “tunnel vision” and late throws between the hashes.
- History of multiple senior-year injuries, including ankle and thumb issues.

Jets' Cade Klubnik: Headed to Jets
The Jets selected Klubnik in the fourth round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 110th overall.
Klubnik's college career didn't end with his most impressive campaign of the bunch, but he put up 3,639 passing yards and a 36:6 TD:INT ratio as a junior in 2024 and still completed 65.6 percent of his pass attempts for 2,943 yards as a senior for Clemson, amassing a 16:6 TD:INT ratio to close things out. Klubnik boasts the measurables necessary for the position and more than enough athleticism, but he struggles getting through his reads and tends to leave the pocket earlier than necessary. While Geno Smith is locked into the starting gig in New York for the next couple of years on a two-year, $75 million contract, Klubnik should have a chance to claim the top backup job from Brady Cook, who really struggled when thrust into starting duties late in the 2025 campaign.
