Draft Scouting Report
Denzel Burke is a tall boundary cornerback with a thin build. He is willing to play downhill in run support. Burke has good top-end speed and burst to mirror routes up the boundary but takes a few extra steps at the route stem. He does not overcommit at the line of scrimmage and displays great recovery speed. The cornerback also has good eyes in zone coverage and breaks quickly on the ball.
- Three-time All-Big Ten (first team in 2023, third team in 2021 and 2024)
- Set school record for career starts by a CB with 51
- Good eyes and awareness in zone coverage
- Plays downhill in run support
- Good stop-start speed
- Good acceleration
- Average-to-below-average play strength
- Occasional false steps at the top of his drop, which leads to lost leverage at the stem
- Gambles on underneath routes, which draws him out of position
- 40-yard dash: 4.48 seconds

Cardinals' Denzel Burke: Headed home
The Cardinals selected Burke in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, 174th overall.
Burke grew up in the Phoenix area before stepping in as an immediate starter at Ohio State. He was a Second Team All-American in his junior season but suffered from an inconsistent final year in college, causing his slide in the draft. Burke's pedigree makes him a notable addition to an Arizona secondary that lacks proven talent, and he'll join college rival Will Johnson in the rookie class at corner for the team.
