Barford scored 32 points (13-26 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-4 FT) and totaled 11 rebounds, two assists, and two steals in Greensboro's 98-96 win on Sunday.
Barford's rise from undrafted free agent to break-out rookie has been nothing short of remarkable. Averaging 19.6 points per game on 46.7 percent shooting on the year, Barford had himself a special night Sunday, converting on 50 percent of his 26 shots. Barford's hot hand wasn't the only big factor involved, though, as his seven defensive rebounds helped earn him a double-double. Barford is a talent that, with time, has the potential to grow even more into a complete player that can fill up stat sheets in a variety of ways.

Jaylen Barford: Stellar showing off bench
Barford tallied 22 points (8-17 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 6-6 FT), six rebounds and two steals across 30 minutes Saturday against Raptors 905.
Barford continues to perform at a high level off the bench, but he couldn't find his shot from beyond the arc. The 6-3 guard is averaging 19.2 points in 26 games this season, although he's yet to crack the starting lineup consistently. Barford has started nine of the contests he's appeared in this year.

Barford finished Wednesday's win with 31 points (11-20 FG, 7-10 3Pt, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and a steal.
At this point, it might be scary to see what kind of numbers Barford could put up if he played more than 20 minutes a night. The 22-year-old guard has been a spark plug off the bench for Greensboro, attempting 20 shots from the field Wednesday, a team-high. It's unclear when he'll find his way into the starting lineup, but if Barford keeps producing at this rate it might not matter how many minutes he's getting.

Barford played in just 18 minutes Friday against the Stars, but still finished with 26 points (9-13 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), three rebounds and two assists in the win.
At some point, Barford is going to find his way into the starting lineup, as the shooting guard has been impressive despite limited minutes. There's a possibility Barford could earn a spot with the NBA affiliate if he continues this level of shooting, particularly thanks to his acumen from the three-point line where he's posting a 40.9 percent figure from deep.

Barford has seen his minutes rise slightly thanks to a litany of injuries in the Swarm's backcourt. The guard is averaging 17.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists through nine games this season.

Jaylen Barford: Cut loose by Charlotte
The Hornets waived Barford on Thursday, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Barford was merely a camp body for Charlotte and wasn't a serious candidate to earn a roster spot ahead of the regular-season opener. He could latch on with the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets' G League affiliate.
