The UCLA Bruins (1-0) will play their first conference game as a member of the Big Ten when they host the Indiana Hoosiers (2-0) on Saturday night. UCLA opened the season with a 16-13 win at Hawaii before having the week off last week. Indiana beat FIU in a 31-7 final in Week 1 and crushed Western Illinois in a 77-3 victory in Week 2. The Hoosiers broke the school's single-game scoring record of 76 points, which was set against Franklin College in 1901.

Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at the Rose Bowl. Indiana is favored by 3 points in the latest UCLA vs. Indiana odds, while the over/under is 46 points, per SportsLine consensus. Why UCLA can cover

UCLA was able to squeak out a win over Hawaii on the road in its opener, outscoring the Rainbow Warriors 16-3 in the second half. Senior quarterback Ethan Garbers threw for 272 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 47 yards on seven carries. Sophomore wide receiver Rico Flores Jr. caught three passes for a team-high 102 yards.

The Bruins were given the week off to recover from that long travel and prepare for their first game in the Big Ten, so this is an ideal scheduling spot for them. Indiana has faced weak competition through its first two games, and it is going on the road for the first time this season. UCLA is 9-1 in its last 10 games in September, while Indiana is 6-14 in its last 20 games. See which team to pick here.

Why Indiana can cover

While the extra rest could be advantageous for UCLA, it is also early in the season and does not allow the Bruins to get into a rhythm. They are coming off a shaky performance against Hawaii and are playing under first-year coach DeShaun Foster. Indiana is off to a flying start under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti, scoring a school-record 77 points last week while allowing 10 total points through its first two games.

Ohio transfer quarterback Kurtis Rourke, who was the MAC Offensive Player of the Year in 2022, has completed 30 of 41 passes for 448 yards and three touchdowns this season. Sophomore wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. has seven receptions for 176 yards, while senior running back Justice Ellison has rushed for 185 yards and two touchdowns. The Hoosiers have covered the spread in five of their last seven games, while the Bruins have only covered twice in their last seven games. See which team to pick here
