Here’s the latest on the conference's top players who are projected to go from playing on Saturdays to starring on Sundays.

      1. LB Jarvis Jones, 6-3, 241, Georgia

Why he has the top spot: Jones made multiple big plays through two weeks. He sat out last week against Florida Atlantic with a minor groin issue, but he’s not expected to miss any more time going forward. His ability to rush the passer and play in space is impressive. This interception and 21-yard return he made against Missouri in Week 2 is one of the top defensive plays in the league this year.

Season stats (two games): 16 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 3.5 TFLs, 2 forced fumbles, INT

Player ranking: Jones is ranked third overall and the second-highest outside linebacker in CBSSports.com’s latest player rankings. 

Up next: Georgia plays Vanderbilt on Saturday. The Commodores, led by RB Zac Stacy’s 97 yards, were able to rush for 200 yards against the Bulldogs in 2011.

      2. QB Tyler Wilson, 6-3, 220, Arkansas

Why he has the second spot: Despite dealing with a head injury, and the Razorbacks’ current struggles, Wilson remains one of the top prospects for the 2013 draft. He’s only played one full game this season, a 49-24 win over Jacksonville State in which he threw for 367 yards, so scouts will need to see him return to full strength soon for him to keep his ranking.

Season stats (two games): 30-of-47 passing (63.8 percent) for 563 yards, 5 TDs, INT

Player ranking: Carter is ranked third overall and is the highest-ranked quarterback in CBSSports.com’s latest player rankings. 

Up next: The Razorbacks host Rutgers on Saturday. Wilson has been practicing and is expected to get the start against the Scarlet Knights.

      3. WR Justin Hunter, 6-4, 200, Tennessee

Why he has the third spot: Hunter is second in the SEC in receptions (22) and receiving yardage (295) through three weeks. He’s had a few untimely drops this season. That’s perhaps the result of rust from him missing most of 2011 with a torn ACL. Still, he has made enough big catches this season to remind NFL scouts why he’s such an impressive prospect.

Season stats (three games): 22 catches, 295 yards, 3 TDs

Player ranking: Hunter is ranked No. 17 overall, and is the second-highest ranked wide receiver in CBSSports.com’s latest player rankings. 

Up next: Tennessee hosts Akron on Saturday. The Zips are ranked No. 14 in the nation in pass defense, but they’ve hardly been tested after opening the season with games against UCF, Florida International and Morgan State.

Keep an eye on: DT Jesse Williams, 6-4, 320, Alabama

Why you should watch him? With a bench press of over 600 pounds, he’s almost impossible to move out of the middle of Alabama’s defense. He won’t show up much on the stat sheet, but he helps everybody on the defense by taking a double team. He also showed some nimble feet against Arkansas with an appearance as a goal-line fullback.

Player ranking: Williams is ranked No. 34 overall and is the fourth-highest defensive tackle in CBSSports.com’s latest player rankings. 

Up next: Alabama hosts Florida Atlantic in what should be another easy victory for the Crimson Tide.
