Trevor Knight will not return for Oklahoma's regular-season finale against rival Oklahoma State, coach Bob Stoops announced Monday.

Knight has missed Oklahoma's last two games after being diagnosed with a condition known as transient quadripilegia. Knight suffered the injury after taking a big hit in Oklahoma's loss against Baylor. Transient quadripilegia is a cervical spine injury normally caused by a hyperextension of the neck; it can lead to numbness, tingling or even loss of sensation on both sides of the body.

Stoops did say that it's possible Knight could return for Oklahoma's bowl game but that it's too hard to predict at this stage.

Cody Thomas has started Oklahoma's last two games and will start against the Cowboys. In his two starts, Thomas has completed only 13 of his 33 passes for 172 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. He's also rushed for 124 yards and a score.

Oklahoma has won both games, however, thanks largely to the contributions of running back Samaje Perine. Odds are Perine will once again carry the load for the Sooners' offense against Oklahoma State.
