Oklahoma has added yet another game-changer to its offense in the future, with five-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss committing to the Sooners live on CBS Sports HQ. Per 247Sports Composite, Inniss is considered the No. 1 wideout and No. 9 overall player in the Class of 2023 coming out of American Heritage in Plantation, Florida. He picked Lincoln Riley's program over plenty of other offers, including those from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Clemson.
"Coach Riley is like no other. We just got off the phone the other day, and he's always excited. They're going to get the best out of me," Inniss said. "Oklahoma felt like a home away from home.
Though the Sooners' recent move to the SEC did factor into Inniss' commitment, he said he was excited to play in his team's new conference "for years to come."
247Sports recruiting analyst Andrew Ivins wrote earlier this month that Inniss is "one of the most college-ready wide receivers to come out of the high school ranks in recent years" and has impressed scouts with his ability to compete against older competition in the hyper-talented South Florida scene.
An elite route runner with a competitive edge that can take over games and beat double coverage. Was initially mistaken by one Power 5 assistant coach for a high school senior when he was just an 8th grader because of his polish. Not the longest of wideouts, but has a thicker build to him and plays much bigger than his frame suggests with his dependable hands. Understands the importance of setting up and selling routes. Mixes gears well. Aggressive at the catch point and will fight through a defender to get the ball. Can turn a short gain into a long gain as he isn't afraid to lower his shoulder pads and get his jersey dirty. Embraces the role of blocking and is the type of teammate that will do whatever it takes to win.
Oklahoma has been crushing it this summer with the 2023 prospects, landing five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson and five-star athlete Makai Lemon. It's too early in the process to judge team rankings for 2023, but the Sooners currently sit at No. 1 in the country and the commitment of Inniss could solidify that position.
