Ohio State football opened the season at No. 2 in the AP Top 25, but when it comes to talent, the Buckeyes are second to none. Ohio State had four players voted to the AP preseason All-American team this week and two more earned second-team honors. Caleb Downs, Denzel Burke, Emeka Egbuka and Donovan Jackson were all included in the first-team unit, while TreVeyon Henderson and Tyleik Williams were second-team.

Does that collection of talent mean Ryan Day will improve on his 56-8 record as head coach and get over the College Football Playoff hump? Ohio State football camp is winding to a close and attention will soon turn to game day preparation for the Zips. Top Ohio State Buckeyes practice storylines

Another major storyline for Buckeyes football entering Ohio State training camp will be how different will the offense be under Chip Kelly. Former Ohio State wide receiver Brian Hartline was the offensive coordinator last season but he was made the co-offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach this offseason when Ohio State initially hired Bill O'Brien. When O'Brien left to take the head coaching job at Boston College just a few weeks later, the Buckeyes made waves once again by hiring Kelly, the head coach at UCLA to fill the role.

Kelly won 25 games the last three seasons with the Bruins and was also a head coach of the Oregon Ducks, the Philadelphia Eagles and the San Francisco 49ers. He's widely considered one of the brightest offensive minds in the game and Day coached under Kelly at several stop throughout their careers. So how exactly will the offense change with Kelly at the helm and how will Hartline adjust to a more limited role after it was confirmed that Kelly would be calling plays this season? Get more updates on Ohio State football training camp at Bucknuts.com.

Another major storyline for Buckeyes football entering Ohio State training camp is that the Buckeyes are still trying to settle on who will return kicks and who will return punts in 2024. After ranking top 11 nationally in scoring offense each of his first four full seasons at the helm, Ryan Day saw his offense slip to 45th in scoring last season and field position was certainly an important part of that equation.

The Buckeyes haven't returned a punt for a touchdown since 2014 and haven't taken a kick back since 2010 but Day is hoping that a roster loaded with skill-position talent will yield something more in 2024. Stars like Emeka Egbuka, Carnell Tate and TreVeyon Henderson are all being considered as possibilities to return kicks and Egbuka, Brandon Inniss, five-star freshman Jeremiah Smith and Jayden Ballard were mentioned by Day as potential punt returners. Find out more about Ryan Day's championship pursuit at Bucknuts.com
