Notre Dame's run of injuries continued in Saturday night's win over USC as the Irish lost left guard Alex Bars for the season with a broken ankle.
Brian Kelly confirmed Bars would miss the season with a fractured ankle on Sunday and said it was "very similar to Malik Zaire's."
It's the seventh season-ending for the Irish as depth continues to become a bigger issue. S Drue Tranquill, TE Durham Smythe, QB Malik Zaire, RB Tarean Folston, DT Jarron Jones and CB Shaun Crawford have all suffered season-ending injuries this season or offseason.
Bars was starting his second game of the season after Quenton Nelson went down with a sprained ankle against Clemson.
Nelson came back in after Bars went down and with a bye week next week before the Irish face Temple, he's expected to be able to resume his full starting duties.
