It looks like Mitt Romney and President Barack Obama will have at least one third-party candidate to deal with on Election Day: The Oregon Duck. Oregon's mascot has decided to throw his hat into the ring and run for president of the United States.

Though several constitutional requirements are required when running for president -- for example, you must be over 35 -- it's not clear if there's any law that would prevent a giant duck from running for America's highest office.

The Duck announced his candidacy in a Youtube video on his official campaign site, Duck2012.com. If the success of the Duck's last Youtube video (below) is any indication, the Duck could be a serious threat at least in Oregon.

The Duck's campaign motto, "America needs a leader who isn't afraid of not wearing pants," will certainly resonate with the thousands of jort-wearing football crazies in SEC country.

The networks haven't revealed any poll numbers since the Duck joined the race, but it's probably safe to assume he's polling well in Oregon, but not so well in Los Angeles, Berkeley or the state of Washington.
