Thanksgiving and football go together like turkey and cranberry sauce. The two are inseperable on the final Thursday of November, and for many families a game of touch football (or tackle if your family is really aggressive) is an annual tradition.
Washington State coach Mike Leach wants to make sure that you have the mental edge for your family's football game, so he drew up a play for the Wall Street Journal that readers can use.

Leach wants you to attack the man coverage your stupid cousins decided to run with a hitch-and-go out wide. They'll never expect the double move.
If they try to get cute and go zone, press it with a corner route from the slot and a slant from the flanker to force your aunt to make a decision. How disciplined is she in her Cover 3? Will she know to sacrifice the underneath to protect deep?
Leach knows your family wasn't spending time reading their playbook on the way in, instead choosing to spend that time "talking" and "getting reacquainted." That's just a sign of weakness that you can exploit.
And if all else fails, as Leach explains, put your brother at quarterback. You know the one that was all-state before tearing up his non-throwing shoulder?
He might not be able to take hits to his left arm anymore, but he can still spin it and take off if the pressure gets to him. Those legs aren't broken, are they John? I didn't think so.
Go dominate your family on Thanksgiving. Demand their respect on the gridiron. It's what the holidays are all about.
