You may not have seen Duke play yet this season, but the Blue Devils are quietly 3-0 and have disposed of its opponents by an average score of 42-11. Granted, those opponents have been Elon, Troy and Kansas, but the point remains that it is worth keeping an eye on David Cutcliffe and the defending ACC Coastal Division champions.

Another reason to check out Duke this week is the recent reveal of its white throwback alternate helmets. The helmet, which features a script "Duke" instead of the stylized "D," was the prominent helmet for Duke football teams from 1978-2003.

Duke's regular home and away uniforms for the 2014 season already have a throwback aspect; the stripes on the sleeves were added this season to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Blue Devils' ACC Championship in 1989.

That team, coached by Steve Spurrier just before his return to Florida as head coach, finished the season with a 6-1 record in ACC play and was arguably the most successful Duke team until Cutcliffe led the Blue Devils to a 10-win season and Coastal Division title in 2013.

You can check out the stripes above in the photo of running back Shaun Wilson, the CBSSports.com Freshman of the Week for Week 3.
