It's almost hard to imagine Mike Bobo coaching somewhere other than Georgia, as it is equally hard to imagine a Georgia coaching staff without its longtime assistant and play-caller (not that that's stopped Bulldogs fans from booing the occasional ill-timed passing play, of course).

But it's a distinct possibility after Georgia athletic director Greg McGarity confirmed Wednesday that Bobo will interview with Colorado State for its vacant coaching position. Per Dawgs247.com, McGarity said he had been informed of Bobo's forthcoming interview by Mark Richt himself Tuesday night. Bobo is required by his contract to inform the Bulldogs of interest from other employers.

Previous Rams coach Jim McElwain accepted the Florida job Dec. 4 after three increasingly successful seasons in Fort Collins.

Bobo is one of a pool of reported candidates at Colorado State that includes Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi, Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost, Texas defensive coordinator Vance Bedford and others. Rams offensive coordinator Dave Baldwin will serve as the team's interim coach in the Royal Purple (formerly Las Vegas) Bowl on Dec. 20 and is also considered a serious candidate for the job.

Still only 40 years old, Bobo was a member of Mark Richt's initial staff in 2001 and has been with the Bulldogs ever since, being promoted from quarterbacks coach to offensive coordinator in 2007. Bobo is also a Georgia graduate, quarterbacking the Bulldogs from 1993 to 1997.
