Troy Flutie spent his spring practice at Boston College transitioning from quarterback to wide receiver, but now he'll have even more on his plate after a drunk driving arrest has led to his suspension from the football team.
"Troy has been suspended from the football team by Coach Steve Addazio pending further investigation and faces the possibility of additional University sanctions pending the outcome of the court proceedings," the school said in an official statement.
Flute, 20, was arrested and charged with operating while under the influence, possessions of an open container of liquor while driving, being a person under 21 in possession of liquor and marked lanes violation. According to the MetroWest Daily news, Flutie hit a curb at 1 a.m., leading to his arrest.
Flutie was a star high school quarterback in Natick, Massachusetts, where he was arrested, but never settled in under center after arriving at Boston College, where his uncle Doug won the Heisman Trophy.
