After review, BYU was ruled short, but got the first down on a gutsy fourth-down call. That should do it. BYU will win 28-25 barring a wild turnover.

NCAA football scores for the nation's top 25 teams, plus live updates, rankings and highlights from Week 8
Week 8 has come and gone and taken some more undefeated teams out with it. With nearly every team in action and nine ranked teams playing unranked opponents on the road, there were bound to be some fireworks as we moved into the second half of the 2019 college football season. And guess what? Those fireworks happened early with No. 6 Wisconsin falling on the road and the same nearly happening to No. 9 Florida save for a fourth-quarter rally.
No. 3 Clemson was able shake off some rust, and No. 2 LSU put together another dominant performance. No. 1 Alabama is tasked with maintaining its top spot in the college football rankings at home against Tennessee. Of course, there was also a huge Big Ten tilt in the evening that saw No. 7 Penn State outlast No. 16 Michigan.
CBS Sports was with you every step of the way Saturday with live updates and highlights below along with the biggest news from Week 8 of the 2019 college football season. Keep on reading for links to our recaps, takeaways and the craziest things that went down on the field.

Boise State has something to say about that, though. A touchdown makes this a three-point game with 3:17 left. Broncos have two timeouts as well. They'll need a stop to have one more shot. Wonder if Bryan Harsin will try an onside or trust his defense.
As we inch closer to a possible BYU upset over Boise State, it's worth noting that the New Year's Six slot for a Group of Five team becomes really interesting really quick. SMU, Cincinnati and Appalachian State are all possibilities.
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition and nobody expects Boise State to fall for trick plays.
Wow, BYU is absolutely putting it on Boise State. Cougars lead 28-10 in the third quarter. BYU QB Baylor Romney just threw his second touchdown.
Sure!
Final from Tuscaloosa: Alabama 35, Tennessee 13. And now we wait to learn more on the status of injured quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Yikes, Jeremy Pruitt.
Well, you don't see this every day.
Alabama's offense stalling out again with Mac Jones, but a 15 point lead seems pretty safe for now against Tennessee.
Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa left the Tennessee game with a leg injury and hasn't returned. Looks doubtful he'll return.
Penn State survives with a 28-21 win over Michigan. Noah Cain converts a late third down on the ground to seal it. Sean Clifford tosses three touchdowns while KJ Hamler hauls in six passes for 108 yards and two touchdown. The Nittany Lions move to 7-0 on the season with a gutsy performance and keep pace with Ohio State.
Shea Patterson places the ball in perfect position for Ronnie Bell, but it goes through Bell's hands. Penn State leads 28-21 with 2:01 left, but Michigan has all three timeouts. Nittany Lions need to get a first down to clinch the game.
Kansas scores and GOES FOR TWO. It's 48-47 KU over Texas with 71 seconds left.
Michigan answers the Hamler touchdown with one of their own. Shea Patterson sneaks it in on fourth down. Penn State leads 28-21 with 8:48 to go. Could be an entertaining finish in Happy Valley.
And just like that, No. 15 Texas has reclaimed the lead. It's 47-40 with just under 3 minutes left to play in the fourth quarter.
Kansas scores ... and we're tied at 40.
Huge touchdown for Penn State. Sean Clifford finds a wide-open KJ Hamler for a 53-yard touchdown. 28-14 Nittany Lions.
Texas just committed turnover No. 2 on the night, giving Kansas plus field position. They're reviewing the play.
Well, this is an interesting development
Zach Charbonnett punches it in for Michigan. Wolverines cut the Penn State lead to 21-14 late in the third quarter.
This was a huge swing for Texas. https://twitter.com/BDavisAAS/...
Texas is up a score, but it appears they are prepared to try and give this away. Ehlinger just threw a pick straight into traffic and Kansas has GREAT field position.
Seems good!
Texas has taken the lead, 31-24, over Kansas. 14 minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Utah dominates Arizona State to earn a 21-3 win. The Sun Devils tally just 136 total yards and Arizona State quarterback Jayden Daniels completed just 4-of-18 passes for 25 yards. Huge win for the Utes.
Upset alert: Kansas currently deadlocked with Texas at 24-24. Pooka Williams currently has 150 rushing yards and a touchdown to pace the Jayhawks.
Penn State leads Michigan 21-7 at the half. Sean Clifford tossed a pair of touchdown passes in the first half. The Wolverines are fortunate to only be down two scores.
Michigan does answer with a touchdown courtesy of Zach Charbonnett. Michigan gets on the board, but still trails Penn State 21-7.
