Reuben Foster, the five-star prospect who flipped from Alabama to Auburn, has been cleared to play this fall at Auburn High School.

The Alabama High School Athletic Association ruled Thursday that no violation occurred in Foster’s transfer to Auburn High from Troup County High in LaGrange, Ga.

Rivals.com rates Foster the nation’s top inside linebacker and No. 2 overall prospect.

His transfer to Auburn High came after the Troup County head coach was fired at the end of the school year.

Foster’s decision to switch his commitment thrilled Tigers fans and drew nationwide attention.

Foster announced his switch to Auburn in July, one year after he had committed to Alabama. He held up his daughter and unzipped her sweatsuit, which revealed a Tigers' cheerleading outfit.

"I want to make an announcement so I can get this behind me and get on with the work that I need to do for high school and getting prepared for college both academically and athletically,” he said. “I am going to enroll at Auburn University.

"I have a lot of respect for Alabama and the coaches and all of the other people and fans," Foster said. "At the end of the day, I feel Auburn University is the place for me and my family, and I am 100 percent confident in my final decision. I feel great about my decision and I'm excited to get started."
