Arizona and BYU have adjusted their agreement for future games, adding a home-and-home for 2026-27 and the changing the year and location and time for a game from a previous agreement.
In 2013, Arizona and BYU announced a three-game series set for 2016, 2018 and 2020. The 2016 game, in Glendale, Ariz. at University of Phoenix Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals, and the 2018 game, in Tucson are still set to proceed as scheduled. But the 2020 game, originally scheduled as a BYU home game in Provo, has been moved to 2021 and will be played in Las Vegas.
As part of the change, Arizona has agreed to travel to Provo for a game at LaVell Edwards Stadium on Sept. 12, 2026. The Cougars will then return to Tucson in 2027 for another early season showdown with the Wildcats.
While five non-conference games in 11 seasons against the same opponent seems like a lot for Arizona, these are the kinds of agreements that will help BYU fill out its future schedule with quality games against Power 5 conference foes.
