Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Undergoes surgery Wednesday
Hendricks underwent surgery on his broken right leg and dislocated ankle Wednesday, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Hendricks' operation was done at the University of Utah's Orthopedic Center, and it appears to have gone smoothly. The 20-year-old is a candidate to return to action at some point during the 2025-26 season. Coach Will Hardy reinforced Hendricks' future with the organization last week, expressing that the injury "doesn't take away anything he's done to this point. He's developed as a player and as a young man...this is far from over for him."

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Will undergo season-ending surgery
Hendricks will undergo surgery to repair the fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle on his right leg, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Hendricks' surgery date will be determined within the next 24-to-48 hours, and this procedure will sideline him for the remainder of the season. The second-year forward started Utah's first three games and led the team in steals per game (1.7), but he will spend the rest of the season in recovery.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Likely done for season
Hendricks is expected to miss the remainder of the season after suffering a fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle in Monday's 110-102 loss to the Mavericks, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Jazz head coach Will Hardy acknowledged after the game that Hendricks is without an official timeline for a return, but if further tests Tuesday confirm the original diagnosis or reveal additional damage, the second-year forward will be headed for season-ending surgery. Hendricks suffered the injuries with 5:59 remaining in the third quarter, when he fell to the floor on a non-contact play and was stretchered to the locker room. Kyle Filipowski came off the bench to replace Hendricks, and the Jazz could turn to a committee of Filipowski, John Collins, Drew Eubanks (illness) and Brice Sensabaugh to replace Hendricks' vacated minutes in the frontcourt. Hendricks started in each of the Jazz's first three games and averaged 4.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.7 steals, 1.3 blocks, 1.0 three-pointers and 0.7 assists in 25.0 minutes while shooting 22.2 percent from the field.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Suffers serious injury Monday
Hendricks is without a timeline for a return after he was confirmed to have suffered a fractured right fibula and dislocated ankle in Monday's 110-102 loss to the Mavericks, Andy Larsen of The Salt Lake Tribune reports.
Hendricks was stretched off the floor midway through the third quarter after he appeared to suffer the injury on a non-contact play. The club is expected to update the 20-year-old's status in the coming days, though given the nature of his injury, the second-year forward could be at risk of missing the rest of the season. For whatever length of time Hendricks is out, Brice Sensabaugh, Cody Williams, Kyle Filipowski, John Collins and Drew Eubanks (illness) could be candidates to pick up more run at either frontcourt spot.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Won't return Monday
Hendricks was taken out of Monday's game against the Mavericks on a stretcher due to a right ankle injury and will not return, Tim MacMahon of ESPN.com reports.
Hendricks sustained what appeared to be a serious injury as the game was stopped for several minutes while he was carried off the floor via stretcher. The 20-year-old posted two points (0-5 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block across 21 minutes. If Hendricks misses an extended period of time, Brice Sensabaugh and Kyle Filipowski are both candidates for more minutes.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Team option picked up
Utah exercised the third-year option on Hendricks' rookie contract Monday.
The move allows the Jazz to keep Hendricks under team control through the 2025-26 regular season. Hendricks bounced back and forth between the Jazz and their G League affiliate Salt Lake City Stars during the 2023-24 regular season. At the NBA level, he averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 21.4 minutes per game across 40 games (23 starts). Hendricks was in the starting lineup over the last 23 regular-season games of his rookie year and saw his numbers jump up to 9.3 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game across 26.3 minutes. He should begin the 2024-25 regular season in the starting frontcourt alongside Lauri Markkanen and John Collins.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Quiet preseason finale
Hendricks scored one point (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 1-2 Ft) while adding two blocks in 19 minutes during Friday's 124-86 preseason loss to the Trail Blazers.
The Jazz trotted out a possible Opening Night starting five in their final exhibition contest, and Hendricks saw the most minutes of the group as coach Will Hardy went to his bench early. Aside from the two rejections. Hendricks made almost no impact, bringing an erratic preseason for the second-year forward to a quiet end. The Central Florida product should see a bigger role than he did as a rookie, when he averaged 21.4 minutes over 40 games, but his main fantasy contributions could come at the defensive end of the court.

Hendricks is penciled in to start the season as Utah's starting power forward after a 2023-24 rookie year in which he averaged 7.3 points, 4.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per contest across 40 regular-season appearances.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Tending to personal issues
Hendricks (personal) isn't with the Jazz for the team's exhibition game against Detroit on Sunday.
Hendricks showed some signs of growth in his second Summer League stint but remained inconsistent on the offensive end. Still, the second-year forward should be given plenty of time to work through growing pains during the regular season with the Jazz still in a rebuilding phase.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Flirts with double-double
Hendricks recorded 20 points (9-10 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds, a steal and a block across 29 minutes of Wednesday's 86-76 win over the Raptors in Summer League.
Hendricks paced the Jazz in points and rebounds Wednesday, falling just one rebound shy of a double-double. The second-year forward had combined to score 11 points in his first two Summer League games in Las Vegas, so Wednesday's outburst was a much-needed bounce-back game. Hendricks started in 23 of his 40 appearances as a rookie and is slated to open the season as Utah's starting power forward.

Jazz's Taylor Hendricks: Resting Tuesday
Hendricks (rest) will sit out the Jazz's Salt Lake City Summer League matchup versus the Thunder on Tuesday, Sarah Todd of The Deseret News reports.
Hendricks posted eight points, five rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block in the club's Summer League opener against the Grizzlies on Monday. However, the 20-year-old will sit out Tuesday so the Jazz can see more from their draft picks Cody Williams, Isaiah Collier and Kyle Filipowski. Hendricks had a decent rookie season with the club last year, during which he averaged 7.3 points and 4.6 rebounds across 21.4 minutes while shooting 45.0 percent from the field in 40 regular-season games. His next chance to suit up will come Wednesday versus the 76ers.
