Top Dyson Daniels News

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Strong two-way impact Monday

Daniels finished Monday's 109-108 win over Sacramento with 14 points (6-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt), eight rebounds, four assists and four blocks in 39 minutes.

Daniels finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double Monday, but he also made his presence felt with a season-high four blocks. His two-way impact can't go unnoticed in Atlanta, and his elite defensive play has allowed Trae Young to excel as a playmaker, as Daniels has shown the ability to handle opposing point guards on the other end of the court. Daniels has also looked better than expected as a scoring threat. He's averaging 15.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.7 steals per game since the beginning of November.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Leads Hawks in scoring

Daniels provided 25 points (10-14 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, two blocks and six steals over 36 minutes during Friday's 129-117 win over Washington.

Daniels stayed hot in Friday night's win and has knocked down 62.9 percent of his tries in his last two appearances. The 21-year-old has also been turning in eye-popping production on the defensive end, registering 18 total steals in three games. Expect Atlanta to continue to ride the hot hand especially while Trae Young works to find his footing coming off an Achilles injury.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Records career-high 28 points

Daniels recorded 28 points (12-21 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 3-5 FT), seven assists, six steals and three rebounds in Tuesday's 117-116 win over the Celtics.

Daniels is on an absolute tear defensively, tallying at least six steals in three straight games. On the season, the 21-year-old guard is averaging 3.6 swipes across 10 contests. Daniels also stepped up in the scoring department against Boston with Trae Young (Achilles) out by posting a team-high 28 points, which is also a career high. In the guard's first two seasons with the Pelicans, Daniels' previous career high was only 17 points.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Thriving defensively

Daniels contributed 16 points (7-15 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-4 FT), eight rebounds, three assists and six steals in 36 minutes during Saturday's 125-113 loss to the Bulls.

This was the third consecutive game in which Daniels recorded four or more steals, and he can get the job as an offensive weapon as well. Daniels is not known for his scoring prowess, but he's making the most of his minutes in the first unit. He's now recorded double-digit points in six of nine outings in 2024-25, and his fantasy upside continues to grow with each passing game. He seems to complement Trae Young extremely well in the backcourt.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Tallies seven steals

Daniels amassed 18 points (7-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, two assists, two blocks and seven steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 122-121 loss to the Pistons.

Daniels has recorded an eye-popping 11 total steals over his last two contests after collecting a season-high seven steals Friday night. His scoring production was an added bonus, as he tied his best mark of the year. The 21-year-old is averaging 12.0 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 3.3 steals over his last four appearances.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Defense makes up for offense in win

Daniels posted six points (3-16 FG, 0-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 37 minutes during Wednesday's 121-116 win over New York.

Daniels had a rough night shooting the ball. However, fantasy managers have to remain pleased with his defensive contributions. Daniels has at least one steal in every game thus far and is averaging 2.4 steals and 0.7 blocks in his 30.7 minutes. Inconsistent offense may persist throughout the campaign, as that's the weak point of his game, but he's still someone who should be rostered in the vast majority of season-long fantasy leagues.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Solid display in return to action

Daniels ended with 16 points (7-10 FG, 2-5 3Pt), five rebounds, three assists and one steal across 25 minutes during Sunday's 126-111 win over the Pelicans.

Daniels returned after a brief two-game absence due to a right hip flexor strain, and the 21-year-old continues to enjoy a solid start to the campaign, as he's firmly entrenched as the Hawks' starting shooting guard with Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) sidelined for the time being. Daniels has scored in double digits in four of his five appearances, putting up a solid line of 13.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 2.4 steals per game. His ability to make an impact on both ends of the court has given the Hawks quite a boost in their backcourt.

Daniels missed two consecutive games due to a right hip flexor strain, though he is expected to play through the injury on the first day of a back-to-back set Sunday. The 21-year-old has seen an uptick in playing time in his first season with Atlanta, during which he has averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks across 32.5 minutes per game in four regular-season appearances thus far.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Listed as questionable for Sunday

Daniels (hip) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Pelicans, Lauren L. Williams of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Daniels has missed two straight games due to a right hip strain but has a chance to return Sunday. With so many injuries to Atlanta's backcourt, Daniels has a clear path to heavy minutes when cleared to suit up again, and he was off to a strong start before the injury, especially defensively. Through four appearances, he's averaged 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Won't play Wednesday

Daniels won't play Wednesday against the Wizards due to a right hip flexor strain, Kevin Chouinard of the Hawks' official site reports.

Daniels has broken out through the first four games of the season, averaging 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals and 1.0 blocks in 32.3 minutes per game. It's unclear when he suffered the injury, but the Hawks will be extremely shorthanded Wednesday, as Bogdan Bogdanovic (hamstring) and Vit Krejci (thigh) remain out, while De'Andre Hunter (knee) is questionable. Daniels is considered day-to-day, and his next chance to suit up will come Friday versus the Kings.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Steal streak continues Monday

Daniels logged 11 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and three steals over 36 minutes during Monday's 121-119 loss to the Wizards.

Daniels has been a low-usage offensive player for the Hawks, but his defense has been excellent. He's recorded at least one steal in each of his first four games, averaging 2.8 swipes in his 32.5 minutes. He's also blocking 1.0 shots per game. As the No. 8 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Daniels was known for his defense, so these types of performances should continue.

  • Hawks' Dyson Daniels: Thrives in starting role

Daniels recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 1-4 FT), five rebounds, two assists, one block and five steals in 35 minutes during Wednesday's 120-116 win over the Nets.

Daniels looked fantastic on both ends of the floor, serving as Robin to Trae Young's Batman. Despite some conjecture as to whether he would start, sure enough, Daniels ran with the starting five and certainly didn't look out of place. His overall fantasy value is likely to rely heavily on his defensive contributions, of which he had six. His offensive repertoire is a work in progress, although he flashed some upside here, attacking the basket and confidently firing away from deep. Daniels was viewed by some as a viable late-round flier in drafts, while others were less confident when it came to his draft pedigree. This is just a small sample, but as long as he can play upwards of 30 minutes per night, he could continue to surprise people and end up being a fantasy stalwart for years to come.
