The Ole Miss Rebels have enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they must head out on the road. Ole Miss and the #18 Tennessee Volunteers will face off in an SEC battle at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday at Thompson-Boling Arena. Coming off of a loss in a game they were expected to win, the Rebels nows face the more daunting task of proving themselves against unfavorable odds.

It looks like Ole Miss must have gotten on Santa's naughty list since the team didn't end up with the win they were expected to receive two weeks ago. It was close but no cigar for Ole Miss as they fell 75-73 to the Samford Bulldogs. That makes it the first time this season Ole Miss has let down their home crowd. They got double-digit scores from four players: guard Daeshun Ruffin (17), guard Jarkel Joiner (15), guard Luis Rodriguez (13), and forward Jaemyn Brakefield (11).

Meanwhile, Tennessee was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap last Wednesday as they fell 73-68 to the Alabama Crimson Tide. The top scorers for the Volunteers were forward Olivier Nkamhoua (15 points) and guard Santiago Vescovi (13 points).

The Rebels are expected to win this handily, but they should have beaten Samford Dec. 21 easily too and instead slipped up with a 75-73. In other words, don't count Tennessee out just yet.
