The Holy Cross Crusaders have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the American Eagles and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 21 of 2018. The Crusaders and American will face off in a Patriot battle at 7 p.m. ET Thursday at Hart Recreation Center. Given that these two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Holy Cross came up short against the Lehigh Mountain Hawks on Monday, falling 77-69. Holy Cross' defeat came about despite a quality game from forward Gerrale Gates, who had 21 points in addition to nine boards.

Meanwhile, things couldn't have gone much worse for the Eagles as they lost 79-53 to the Boston University Terriers on Monday. Guard Colin Smalls wasn't much of a difference maker for American; Smalls played for 39 minutes with and four turnovers.

Barring any buzzer beaters, Holy Cross is expected to win a tight contest. True fans might be the only ones betting on them, currently 5-10 ATS, to cover the spread.

The losses put Holy Cross at 3-12 and American at 4-9.
