Were hatemaps a thing before about three days ago? I can't remember, but they seem perfect for our click-and-react-and-move-on sportsweb world. In recent days we've seen plenty of them.

And now it's college basketball's turn to take a stab at each of the 50, nifty United States' loathing of certain programs.

The person behind @kmhokies35 was the organizer of this. He's also done the college football one. And the NFL one. And others. He went to Reddit's college basketball hub to crowdsource, and also had a custom-made poll.

I actually tried to help him. For comparative sake, here are the responses that went toward this poll/what we got back for the official @EyeonCBB account over the weekend.

A lot of it lines up, but on our end, the only tricky one is Michigan. Which -- albeit with a small sample size -- was big in its non-support of Wisconsin. Look at San Diego State, once a nothing program, stirring up hate in both Nevada and New Mexico. How can anyone hate Steve Fisher?

And Mississippi State getting the most hate in Mississippi? Thought Kentucky would sweep the SEC states, but no. Even Alabama has more dislike saved for Duke. The weirdest one: Colorado hating Arizona State. What are they smoking up there?

Also: Being that it has no D-I program, I'm absolutely curious about Alaska.
