SMU transfer Keith Frazier has committed to North Texas, sources told CBS Sports on Wednesday.
He will be eligible starting in December 2016.
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 11.9 points in 10 games this season for the Mustangs before leaving Larry Brown's program in early January for personal reasons.
A former McDonald's All-American, Frazier was at the center of the NCAA's investigation of SMU which led to a postseason ban for the 2015-16 season as well as the loss of nine scholarships through the 2018-19 season.
The NCAA said an administrative assistant finished Frazier's online coursework in less than three weeks' time in the summer of 2013. This was done in an effort to get Frazier to qualify for his freshman season of play at SMU.
Frazier played at Kimball High School in Dallas, not far from North Texas' campus in Denton, Texas.
