What to Know
The George Mason Patriots are 1-5 against the Rhode Island Rams since February of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Patriots and Rhode Island will face off in an Atlantic 10 battle at 7 p.m. ET at EagleBank Arena. Rhode Island will be strutting in after a win while GMU will be stumbling in from a loss.
GMU came up short against the Kansas Jayhawks this past Saturday, falling 76-67. Despite the defeat, GMU got a solid performance out of guard Davonte Gaines, who posted a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.
Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the game between the Rams and the American International Yellow Jackets on Sunday was still a pretty decisive one as Rhode Island wrapped it up with a 70-55 victory at home.
George Mason's loss took them down to 7-6 while Rhode Island's victory pulled them up to 9-3. We'll see if the Patriots can steal Rhode Island's luck or if Rhode Island records another victory instead.
