Two straight games in the Breslin Center, two straight star-studded performances for Michigan State senior Denzel Valentine. Valentine had 20 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds in the Spartans' 69-57 win against Wisconsin on Thursday night.

The performance follows Valentine's 30-point, 13-assist afternoon against Indiana on Sunday and gives the Spartans' star and leader 15 double-doubles for his career.

Valentine said it wasn't a good game for Michigan State, saying that the offensive execution was sloppy and it took a good defensive effort to tighten up and secure the win.

"Overall I thought it was a pretty solid game. But I thought I played a little sloppy," Valentine told ESPN after the game, detailing each mistake as if they burned in his mind. "Overall it was solid."

That improved defensive effort created some easy opportunities, like this awesome fast-break slam from Valentine.

Valentine's commitment on the defensive end will be a talking point as his Big Ten and National Player of the Year candidacy is discussed, but his stat-stuffing and highlight-reel plays will keep him in the mind of the college basketball consciousness in a season with few stars to challenge Oklahoma's Buddy Hield.
