Cal State Fullerton's Bob Burton stepping down

Cal State Fullerton head coach Bob Burton and the school are parting ways, sources told CBSSports.com. Associate head coach Andy Newman is expected to take over on an interim basis.

Cal State Fullerton's Bob Burton is expected to step down, sources told CBSSports.com. 

Burton will likely be replaced on an interim basis by Andy Newman. 

Burton was a long-time junior college coach who was hired back in 2003 to replace Donny Daniels. Burton had been 488-158 in 21 years at West Valley College. 

He leaves Cal State Fullerton after a decade and a 153-122 record. The Titans were 21-10 last season. 

Newman came with Burton from West Valley -- and has been the associate head coach for the past five seasons.
