The weekend is loaded with teams on the bubble to earn an at-large berth into the 68-team field for the NCAA Tournament and we'll go over the ramifications for each team playing Saturday. First, let's take a look at some results from Thursday that caused some movement in the updated NCAA Tournament bracket projection.

  • Michigan's 82-58 upset of Purdue on Thursday was huge for the Wolverines. Michigan wasn't a bubble team until it beat the Boilermakers but after picking up a win vs. a team that was poised to be a No. 1 seed in Friday's bracket projection the Wolverines are now the last team in the field of 68.
  • Michigan's win vs. Purdue also helped North Carolina's resume. The Wolverines moved to No. 30, up from No. 47 in the NET rankings after beating the Boilermakers. That gives UNC its first Quad 1 win of the season after the Tar Heels beat the Wolverines at home earlier this season. The Tar Heels are now 1-7 in Quad 1 games which isn't good enough to make the field, but they are now one of the First Four Out.
  • Oregon beat Stanford 68-60 to put some separation between itself and the bottom of the bracket. It also knocked the Cardinal off the bubble for now. The Ducks are a No. 10 seed in the updated bracket.
  • BYU picked up a huge 83-82 overtime victory at Loyola Marymount. The result was big for the Cougars not because it is a quality win, but because it ends a four-game losing streak. The Cougars, a No. 11 seed in the bracket,  were in danger of falling off the bracket entirely – and they still are, but should feel better about navigating the end of the season.

Here are the bubble teams in action on Saturday including a "Double Bubble" game involving two ACC teams near the cut line to make the 68-team field for the NCAA Tournament. All times Eastern

Saturday's "Double Bubble" game

Miami at Wake Forest

3 p.m. | ACC Regional Networks

Miami is barely hanging on to a spot in the field after losing two of its last three games. The Canes begin a season-ending stretch of five of seven games on the road. If Miami is going to make the NCAA Tournament, it will need to do well away from home.

Wake Forest just needs to get some quality wins. The Demon Deacons' strength of schedule, especially in non-conference play, is dismal, and they have not picked up the kind of wins that make up for that. They also have losses at Syracuse and Louisville, which also are not helping matters. The winner of this game may or not be in the bracket Monday, but the loser will very likely be out.

Other bubble teams in action Saturday

at Georgetown, Noon | FS1, fuboTV (Try for free) -- Creighton has been playing hit-and-miss basketball lately and the Blue Jays need to start stringing some hits together. This is the first of back-to-back games against the Hoyas, which are winless in Big East play. It is imperative that Creighton keep them winless.

at Kansas, 1 p.m. | CBS, CBSSports.com, CBS Sports App (Free) -- The Sooners picked up a huge win at home over Texas Tech this week to get back into the bracket, but the stay may be short lived. At just 14-10, Oklahoma needs to start stacking wins so that it has a good enough record to be considered. Winning at Kansas would send a strong message.

at Villanova, 1 p.m. | Fox, fuboTV (Try for free) -- The Pirates have won three straight to start to feel more comfortable about their tournament chances. I do not think this is a must-win game, but rather a great opportunity to put some more space between themselves and the bottom of the bracket.

at Rhode Island, 2 p.m. | ESPNU, fuboTV (Try for free) -- Davidson is now in a position where every game is must win because the Wildcats cannot afford to take bad losses. Saint Louis is the only team left on their schedule that is a bubble team or better.

vs. Florida State, 2 p.m. | ESPN, fuboTV (Try for free) -- North Carolina has played better of late, but until Thursday, was still 0-7 against Quad 1 opposition. Michigan, which the Tar Heels beat by 21 back in December, moved into Quad 1 for now. They need to keep winning games vs. teams like the Seminoles to stay in touch with the bracket.

at Oklahoma State, 2 p.m. | ESPN2, fuboTV (Try for free) -- The Mountaineers are another team that has struggled mightily against very good teams and is in a league with several of those. They are just 2-8 vs Quad 1 opposition. They have seven more games scheduled against that group and this is one of them, although the Cowboys would not be a tournament team if eligible. This begins a stretch of four out of five on the road and the home game is Kansas. Yikes.

at Michigan State, 2:30 p.m. | Fox, fuboTV (Try for free) -- Indiana will be back at full strength for the trip to East Lansing, Michigan, after five players who were suspended for the Northwestern game were reinstated. This is a big game for the Hoosiers, who are still looking for that first noteworthy win away from home.

at Houston, 2:30 p.m. | ABC, fuboTV (Try for free) -- It is the Tigers' turn to take their shot at Houston. It is unlikely that Memphis will make the tournament if it does not beat the Cougars at some point this season. Houston should be pretty focused after blowing a big lead at SMU last time out.

vs. California, 3 p.m. | Pac-12 Network, fuboTV (Try for free) -- Oregon has won 10 of its last 11 to put itself into contention for a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Like the other tournament contenders in the Pac-12, most of the Ducks' games are against teams that do not help with resume building. This is another of those games.

at Kentucky, 4 p.m. | ESPN, fuboTV (Try for free) -- The Gators are still trying to creep onto the bracket, but that loss to Texas Southern is still among the things holding them back. But there is nothing like a win at Rupp Arena to cure some ills on a tournament resume.

at Morehead State, 4 p.m. | ESPN+ -- Murray State's strength of schedule is a real problem when it comes to becoming an at-large team. Naturally, that is due to the weakness of the Ohio Valley Conference despite the fact that Belmont and Morehead State are also pretty good. This is no gimme for the Racers, but they need it.

at George Mason, 4 p.m. | ESPN+ -- VCU's losses, while not terrible, are more damaging to its tournament profile than its wins are helping. The Rams split road-and-road game with Davidson and Dayton, but also lost at home to SoCon leader Chattanooga and got blown out at St. Bonaventure. This is an important game because it is one of only two games left that are currently Quad 1 or 2.

at SE Missouri State, 5 p.m. | ESPN+ -- Belmont is hanging on by a thread, but picked up a win over Morehead State on Thursday, avenging an earlier loss. Every game left in the regular season is a potential Quad 4 loss except the rematch with Murray State.

vs. Ohio State, 6 p.m. | ESPN, fuboTV (Try for free) -- Welcome back to the bracket, Michigan. That was a nice win over Purdue, but now your archrival comes to visit and is bringing the pain of a loss at Rutgers with them. The Wolverines are just 13-9, so they need to continue to win so their record can be good enough to get selected.

at East Carolina, 6 p.m. | ESPNU, fuboTV (Try for free) -- The Mustangs cannot get so high over that win vs. Houston that they are hungover at ECU. SMU is in no position to start giving back some of the gains from that win. The Mustangs do not need any more Quad 3 losses.

at Santa Clara, 6 p.m. | Stadium -- USF bounced back nicely from its worst loss of the season by annihilating Pepperdine on Thursday night. This will be a better level of competition. The Broncos are just off the bubble as a No. 9 seed and are looking for a big win to get the attention of the committee. The Dons are looking to add a borderline Quad 1 win to its resume.

at Clemson, 7 p.m. | ACC Network, fuboTV (Try for free) -- The Irish have won seven of their last eight to creep up into the middle of the bracket. They do not have any more games left with Duke, but there is a big one at Wake Forest coming up soon. Notre Dame needs to continue to win to build a cushion in case that one does not go their way.

vs. Air Force, 8 p.m. | CBS Sports Network -- The Aztecs have struggled with the better teams on their schedule. They are just 3-6 against Quads 1-2, but the fact that they have no losses outside of that has helped to keep them in the bracket. That is why this is a must-win game for San Diego State.

at Pepperdine, 8 p.m. | CBS Sports Network -- BYU got off the schneid against LMU and now visits Pepperdine, the last-place team in the WCC. A loss to the Waves and you can wave good-bye to BYU's tournament hopes.

vs. UCLA, 10 p.m. | ESPN, fuboTV (Try for free) -- USC desperately needs a quality win. The Trojans played a horrible non-conference schedule and have done very little to make up for that. There are only wins over two opponents that can save USC's resume, Arizona and UCLA. This is the first of a home-and-home with the Bruins. USC still has Arizona at home left as well.
