VALPARAISO, Ind. (AP) Tytan Anderson scored 20 points as Northern Iowa beat Valparaiso 86-67 on Wednesday night.
Anderson shot 9 of 12 from the field and 2 for 3 from the line for the Panthers (14-12, 8-7 Missouri Valley Conference). Jacob Hutson scored 19 points, going 8 of 9 and 2 of 3 from the free throw line. Logan Wolf had 16 points and shot 5 for 7 (3 for 5 from 3-point range) and 3 of 4 from the free throw line.
The Beacons (6-20, 2-13) were led by Isaiah Stafford, who recorded 21 points. Jahari Williamson added 12 points for Valparaiso. In addition, Darius DeAveiro finished with 11 points, 10 assists and two steals. The loss is the seventh in a row for the Beacons.
Northern Iowa took the lead with 15:50 remaining in the first half and did not relinquish it. The score was 38-26 at halftime, with Wolf racking up nine points. The Panthers pulled away with a 10-0 run in the second half to extend their lead to 20 points. They outscored Valparaiso by seven points in the final half, as Hutson led the way with a team-high 14 points after halftime.
