Contreras went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and a run scored in Wednesday's 10-6 win over the Cubs. Contreras has been held hitless just five times over 26 games in May, going 31-for-104 (.298) for the month. The catcher is up to a .323/.394/.509 slash line with eight home runs, four steals, 43 RBI, 45 runs scored, 15 doubles and a triple in 55 contests, so this month has actually been a bit of a cooling off compared to how he started the season. He's been able to have an everyday role between catcher and designated hitter as one of the best overall batters in baseball this season.... See More ... See Less

Brewers' William Contreras: Belts big three-run blast
Contreras went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run Saturday in a 4-2 victory versus Houston. Contreras provided the biggest hit of the game with a three-run, fourth-inning homer that broke a 1-1 tie and sent Justin Verlander to the showers. The long ball was the backstop's second in his past three games and extended his current on-base streak to 25 contests. During that stretch, Contreras is batting .347 with three homers, 17 RBI, 22 runs, two stolen bases and a 14:16 BB:K.... See More ... See Less -

Contreras got Milwaukee on the board with a three-run, opposite-field blast off Martin Perez in the third inning before tacking on a fourth RBI with a triple in the sixth, his first three-bagger this season. While Contreras had gone 18 games without a home run, he's now recorded at least one hit in nine straight contests, going 17-for-36 (.472) in that span. The 26-year-old catcher is now slashing a robust .359/.434/.553 with six homers, 34 RBI, 39 runs scored and three stolen bases through 196 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -

He then added a single in the fifth frame before going on to steal his second base of the season. The catcher scored three runs in the contest, a mark he's hit three times already this season, while also recording multiple hits for the second consecutive game. Brewers' William Contreras: Erupts with five RBI
Contreras went 4-for-5 with two homers, five RBI and three runs scored in Sunday's 12-4 win over the Mariners. One day after receiving his Silver Slugger Award, Contreras hit his first and second home runs of the season to help him achieve a career-best five RBI in one game. All four of his hits had an exit velocity of 104 mph or higher, as he's seeing the ball very well to start the year. Contreras went 2-for-5 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Mets. Contreras also struck out twice and has already whiffed five times through 14 plate appearances after striking out at a 20.6 percent clip last season, but he's been productive the past two games with five hits. Brewers' William Contreras: Shines in spring game
Contreras went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Tuesday's exhibition contest. Contreras had been a bit quiet after homering in his first appearance of the spring, but he made all kinds of noise Tuesday and now owns a .976 OPS through 10 spring games. The Brewers brought in fellow backstop Gary Sanchez over the offseason, but he will likely see most of his action at the designated hitter spot while Contreras handles the bulk of the starts behind the plate.... The 25-year-old backstop has hit safely in seven straight games and 12 of the last 13 as Milwaukee tries to lock up the NL Central title, slashing .314/.400/.451 over the latter stretch with two homers, three steals, eight RBI and 10 runs.... Brewers' William Contreras: Resting Saturday
Contreras will sit Saturday against the Pirates. Contreras finds himself on the bench for the second time in three games, which follows a stretch in which he started seven out of eight games behind the plate. His OPS has trended down each month this season, going from .779 in April to .746 in May and finally .710 in June, though producing in line with that latter mark for the rest of the season would still be perfectly acceptable for a backstop. Victor Caratini starts behind the plate Saturday.... See More ... See Less -

Brewers' William Contreras: Ties game with solo blast
Contreras went 1-for-1 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 loss against the Athletics. Victor Caratini started the game at catcher and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base, but Contreras pinch-hit for Rowdy Tellez in the bottom of the eighth and smoked a game-tying solo home run off left-hander reliever Richard Lovelady. Contreras was hitting just .207 with only one home run over his first 29 at-bats in June, so his pinch-hit heroics Saturday could turn things around for the 25-year-old, who's taken over as the primary catcher during his first campaign in Milwaukee....
