Correa went 5-for-6 with three runs scored and an RBI in Wednesday's 17-9 win over the Rockies. Correa's first career five-hit game is the highlight of what's been a stellar run at the plate -- he's now 15-for-29 (.517) with a double and a home run over his last seven contests. The 29-year-old Correa is now slashing .290/.356/.459 with five homers, 28 RBI and 28 runs scored across 208 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less

Twins' Carlos Correa: Reaches base four times
Correa went 3-for-5 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI in Sunday's 11-5 win over the Pirates. Correa plated two on a 10th-inning single, scoring later in the frame to cap off a seven-run inning for the Twins. The 29-year-old notched his third multi-hit effort over his past four games, reaching base four times in Sunday's win. Correa owns a solid .265/.335/.441 slash line, but he has provided limited power with just five home runs and 26 RBI in 47 games played.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Swats fifth homer
Correa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Thursday's loss to the Yankees. Correa got Minnesota off to a fast start with a solo shot off Marcus Stroman in the first inning. He added a sacrifice fly in the fifth to give him consecutive multi-RBI performances. Though Correa is batting just .217 (5-for-23) over his past six games, he's knocked in a hearty nine runs over that stretch.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Getting rare day off
Correa is out of the lineup for Sunday's game in Houston. He'll sit out the series finale against his former club in what looks to be little more than a maintenance day. Willi Castro will fill in at shortstop for Correa, who had started in each of the Twins' last 21 games.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Launches fourth home run
Correa went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Nationals. Correa extended Minnesota's lead to 2-0 with two outs in the sixth inning with a solo shot off Jake Irvin, his fourth of the year and second in three days. The 29-year-old Correa has a hit in five straight games, going 5-for-17 with a 1.133 OPS in that span. He's now slashing .268/.362/.455 on the season with 13 RBI and 18 runs scored through 130 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Comes off IL
The Twins reinstated Correa (intercostal) from the 10-day injured list Monday. Correa ended up spending about two and a half weeks on the IL after being deactivated April 13 with a right intercostal strain. Though he wasn't sent out on a minor-league rehab assignment prior to being activated, Correa should immediately take back an everyday role at shortstop as he rejoins the active roster ahead of Monday's series opener versus the White Sox. Outfielder Austin Martin was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul in a corresponding move.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Slated to return Monday
The Twins will activate Correa (oblique) from the 10-day injured list prior to Monday's game versus the White Sox, Bobby Nightengale of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Correa will skip a rehab assignment and go ahead and rejoin the major-league roster instead following a two-plus-week absence with a right intercostal strain. Willi Castro has been operating as the Twins' everyday shortstop since Correa went down with the injury but will now re-enter the mix for starts at third base and also the outfield.... See More ... Twins' Carlos Correa: Could return soon
Correa (oblique) said Wednesday he could return during the Twins' upcoming road trip, which begins Friday against the Angels and runs through next Wednesday against the White Sox, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Correa did some glove work and took swings Wednesday as he ramps up his baseball activities, and there's a chance he returns from the injured list without a minor-league rehab assignment. The star shortstop's progress over the next few days should provide a better indication of whether a rehab stint will be necessary.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Set to begin baseball activities
Correa (right intercostal strain) is scheduled to begin baseball activities next week, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. "His symptoms are improving dramatically from where we were," said Twins head trainer Nick Paparesta. Correa was placed on the injured list April 13 with the intercostal strain and it was described as mild. There isn't a timetable for his return, but it's a good sign he's making progress. With Correa out, Willi Castro has been the primary shortstop for the Twins.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Placed on injured list
The Twins placed Correa on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a right oblique strain. Correa suffered the injury during an at-bat in the third inning of Friday's loss, and it will officially cost him at least 10 days. The team is still awaiting the results of his MRI and will establish a timeline once they come back. Willi Castro will take over as Minnesota's primary shortstop while Correa recovers, opening the door for Kyle Farmer and Jose Miranda to see more action at the hot corner.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: IL stint likely
Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Friday that he expects Correa (side) to land on the injured list, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Correa had to exit Friday's loss to the Tigers early after suffering a right oblique strain during his at-bat in the third inning. The Twins will likely hold off making any decisions until the infielder's MRI results come back, but Baldelli's words suggest Correa's odds of avoiding the IL are slim. Willi Castro entered Friday's game as his replacement at shortstop and will likely remain there while Correa is out, opening up third base for Kyle Farmer or Jose Miranda.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Exits with injury
Correa was removed from Friday's game against the Tigers due to a right oblique strain, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Correa was grabbing at his right side after striking out in the top of the third inning and was replaced at shortstop by Willi Castro as the Twins took the field in the bottom half of the frame. The severity of the 29-year-old's injury remains unclear, but Kyle Farmer may see increased reps at shortstop should Correa's oblique force him onto the injured list.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Three hits Thursday
Correa went 3-for-4 with a double in Thursday's 4-2 loss to Cleveland. Correa had gone just 1-for-11 in his previous four games after racking up three hits Opening Day. With three more hits Thursday, Correa's now slashing a healthy .368/.520/.474 with a pair of doubles, three runs scored and three RBI through 25 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Three hits in Opening Day win
Correa went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a walk in Thursday's Opening Day win at Kansas City. Correa played through plantar fasciitis in his left foot for most of last season but was pain-free in spring training. After one game it looks like full health could result in a bounce-back season. Correa slashed just .230/.312/.399 with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in 580 plate appearances last season.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Strong start to spring
Correa went 2-for-3 in Sunday's spring training tie with Tampa Bay. He's hitting .429 (3-for-7) through three spring games. Correa played through plantar fasciitis in his left foot for most of last season but said he was pain-free as spring training began, and he's looked sharp in the field. Correa slashed just .230/.312/.399 with 18 home runs and 65 RBI in 580 plate appearances last season while battling through a nagging foot issue starting in mid-May, so he could bounce back simply by avoiding re-injury.... Twins' Carlos Correa: Big strides with foot injury
Correa said over the weekend at the TwinsFest fan event that he "started turning the curve" with the recovery from his left foot injury in mid- to late-December, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports. Correa played through plantar fasciitis in his foot for the bulk of the 2023 season and didn't do any running or sprinting early on in the offseason. He admitted that the recovery "took longer than expected," but he's running, sprinting and hitting without issue now and has declared himself ready to go for spring training. Correa slashed just .230/.312/.399 with 18 home runs and 65 RBIs in 580 plate appearances last season while battling through the nagging foot issue starting in mid-May. Plantar fasciitis is an injury that can flare up again, which is worrisome, but Correa should be in line for a bounce-back 2024 campaign if he can stay healthy.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Tallies three hits in win
Correa went 3-for-4 with two doubles, three RBI and one walk in Sunday's 6-2 win over the Astros in Game 2 of the ALDS. The star shortstop was an RBI machine in this contest, accounting for half of his team's runs to help tie the series. Correa was preparing himself for a postseason mentality at the end of the regular season, finishing the year with an .840 OPS across 15 games in September, his best mark of any month. That success has translated into October, as he now is slashing .533/.588/.733 across four games this postseason and has also contributed four RBI.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: In lineup for Game 1
Correa (hand) is in Minnesota's lineup for Game 1 of the ALDS against the Astros, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports. Correa didn't seem to be too concerned after getting hit in the hand by a pitch toward the end of Game 2 of the AL Wild Card Series, and he's officially good to go Saturday. Correa went 3-for-7 with an RBI during the wild-card round and will look to maintain his momentum heading into a series against his former team.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: X-rays on hand negative
X-rays on Correa's right hand came back negative after he was hit by a pitch during Wednesday's game against Toronto, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Correa was able to remain the game after taking a 99-mph Jordan Romano fastball off his hand in the eighth inning. Correa said after the game that he's "good to go," so it seems likely he'll be able to suit up for Minnesota's AL Divisional Series matchup against Houston.... See More ... See Less -
Twins' Carlos Correa: Won't return this weekend
Correa (foot) will not rejoin the Twins before the end of the regular season, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. The original plan had been for Correa to travel with the Twins to Colorado for their final series of the regular season. However, the decision has been made for him to stay back and participate in simulated games instead. It is not being viewed as a setback, as Correa still appears in line to play in Game 1 of the Wild Card round next week. The veteran shortstop has been plagued by plantar fasciitis and will finish the 2023 season having slashed a disappointing .230/.312/.399 with 18 home runs over 135 games.... See More ... See Less
