Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Clubs homer
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Sunday's 7-3 win over the Marlins. After going 0-for-12 during the Mets' series against Philadelphia, Nimmo has started the Marlins series 2-for-8 (.250) with a double, a two-run home run and five total runs scored. Nimmo's homer Sunday came off Anthony Bender in the ninth inning and marked the outfielder's seventh of the season. In 193 plate appearances, Nimmo owns a .777 OPS.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Returning to lineup
Nimmo (illness) is starting in left field and batting third Saturday against the Marlins. A stomach bug has kept Nimmo from starting the Mets' last two games, but the issue seems to have subsided prior to Saturday's contest. The 31-year-old outfielder has been in a bit of a slump at the plate lately, logging just one hit -- a two-run homer -- in 14 at-bats across his last five games.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Held out again Friday
Nimmo (illness) remains out of the lineup for Friday's contest in Miami. Nimmo was a late scratch from Thursday's lineup due to a stomach bug and he's evidently still not feeling well enough to play. With Nimmo resting, the Mets will go with Tyrone Taylor in left field and in the leadoff spot.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Scratched from lineup
Nimmo was scratched from the Mets' lineup prior to Thursday's game against the Phillies due to a stomach illness, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports. Nimmo wasn't feeling well heading into Thursday's contest, so the Mets will give him the day off to recover. In the meantime, DJ Stewart will take Nimmo's place in left field and bat fifth, moving Tyrone Taylor into the leadoff spot.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Returns to lineup Monday
Nimmo (intercostal) will start in left field and bat leadoff in Monday's game versus the Phillies, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports. Nimmo didn't start Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta due to right intercostal irritation, but he entered the contest off the bench and eventually clubbed a walk-off, two-run home run in his lone plate appearance. Four of Nimmo's six home runs this season have come over his last 12 games.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Hits walk-off homer Sunday
Nimmo (intercostal) entered Sunday's 4-3 win over Atlanta in the bottom of the seventh inning and hit a walk-off two-run home run in his lone at-bat. Nimmo was held out of the starting nine due to right intercostal irritation, but he felt well enough to come off the bench and replace DJ Stewart as a pinch runner in the seventh inning. He then manned left field for the final two innings and recorded a pair of outs in the field before slugging a home run off AJ Minter in the bottom of the ninth. Nimmo said during the ESPN broadcast that he expects to play Monday against the Phillies, but fantasy managers will still want to ensure he's included in the lineup prior to the 7:10 p.m. ET opening pitch before activating him.... Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Not starting Sunday
Nimmo (ribs) is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's series finale against Atlanta, Jorge Castillo of ESPN.com reports. Nimmo left after the fourth inning of Saturday's 4-1 loss due to right intercostal irritation. DJ Stewart will start in left field Sunday and bat in the leadoff spot against Atlanta right-hander Bryce Elder.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Injury believed to be minor
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Saturday that he's "not too concerned" about Nimmo's intercostal injury, Tim Healey of Newsday reports. Nimmo tweaked his right intercostal on a checked swing Saturday against Atlanta and eventually exited the game. However, Mendoza said of the injury that "I think we caught it early," and there are no plans to send the outfielder for an MRI. Nimmo will be re-evaluated Sunday but is considered day-to-day for the time being.... See More ... See Less -

Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Goes deep again
Nimmo went 1-for-4 with a three-run homer and a walk in Tuesday's 7-5 win over the Cardinals. Nimmo got the Mets going with a three-run blast off Miles Mikolas in the fifth to knot the game up at 3-3. He's now homered in back-to-back games and has at least a hit in six straight with seven RBI over that span. For the year, the 31-year-old is hitting .229/.377/.412 with five homers, 25 RBI, 20 runs and a 25:32 BB:K in 162 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Belts decisive homer
Nimmo went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored Monday in a 4-3 win against St. Louis. With the score tied 3-3 in the top of the seventh inning, Nimmo swatted a 415-foot solo shot to right field that provided the winning margin for New York. The veteran outfielder extended his hitting streak to five games, and four of his seven hits over that span have gone for extra bases. Nimmo has lifted his season average to .228 with the hot stretch following a cold start to the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: On base three times in win
Nimmo went 2-for-4 with a walk, a double and two RBI in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Cubs. The 31-year-old is coming to life from the leadoff spot, reaching base multiple times in five of his last seven starts and batting .286 (8-for-28) over that stretch with a .394 OBP. Nimmo's .216/.365/.360 slash line on the season remains disappointing for fantasy purposes, but he's chipped in three homers, two steals, 15 runs and 20 RBI in 30 contests.... See More ... See Less -
Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Getting routine day off
Nimmo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Cubs. According to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, manager Carlos Mendoza said pregame that Nimmo is getting a routine day off after having started in all but one of the Mets' first 29 games of the season. Tyrone Taylor will replace Nimmo in left field and atop the batting order.... See More ... See Less -

Nimmo has reached base safely in all 11 games he's played so far in April, slashing .286/.455/.548 with seven runs, 12 RBI, and six of his 12 hits (three doubles, a triple and two homers) going for extra bases.... Nimmo extended New York's lead to 2-0 in the second inning with an RBI double before driving in another run with a triple in the eighth. Nimmo has gone 7-for-14 with four extra-base hits in three games against Atlanta after starting the season in a 3-for-29 slump. The 31-year-old outfielder should continue to serve as the Mets' regular leadoff batter after slashing .274/.363/.466 with a career-high 24 homers, 68 RBI and 89 runs scored last season.... Mets' Brandon Nimmo: Busts out of slump
