O'Hoppe went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in Monday's 9-7 win over the Astros. O'Hoppe is heating up at the plate -- he's hit safely in eight of his last 11 games with two homers and 11 RBI in that span. The catcher is up to four long balls, 22 RBI, 18 runs scored, six doubles and a triple while slashing .264/.321/.403 over 157 plate appearances. The 24-year-old got off to a slow start this season, but he's back to offering some pop from the middle of the order.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Gets break Sunday
O'Hoppe is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers. The 24-year-old will get a break as Matt Thaiss starts at catcher and bats sixth for Los Angeles' series finale against Texas. Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Smacks third homer
O'Hoppe went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run and a walk in Tuesday's 7-6 loss to the Cardinals. O'Hoppe got the Angels back into the game with a fourth-inning blast off Sonny Gray. Since returning from a minor hand issue May 6, O'Hoppe has gone 9-for-31 (.290) with eight RBI over eight games. The catcher is at a .268/.321/.402 slash line with three homers, 19 RBI, 15 runs scored, six doubles and a triple over 37 contests this season.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Idle Friday

Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Back in lineup Monday
O'Hoppe (hand) will start at catcher and bat fifth in Monday's game in Pittsburgh, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. O'Hoppe exited Saturday's game against the Guardians after taking a foul tip off his right hand, but X-rays came back clean and he's ready to roll after resting Sunday. The young catcher is slashing .260/.317/.396 with two home runs over 29 games for the Angels this season.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Not starting Sunday
O'Hoppe (hand) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Guardians. As expected, O'Hoppe will be on the bench for the day game to close out the series in Cleveland after he exited Saturday's 7-1 loss with a right hand contusion. Matt Thaiss will step in behind the plate for O'Hoppe, who should be viewed as day-to-day heading into Monday's series opener in Pittsburgh. According to Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register, O'Hoppe has already resumed throwing and was scheduled to take batting practice Sunday, so he could be available off the bench in an emergency.... Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Pushes average back up to .318
O'Hoppe went 3-for-4 with a run in Monday's loss to Baltimore. O'Hoppe batted out of the No. 7 slot in the lineup and accounted for one of the team's two runs and for three of the team's eight hits. The backstop notched his fifth multi-hit game of the season and got his season batting average back up to .318 after a recent 2-for-18 skid. O'Hoppe also has two homers, seven RBI and eight runs over 74 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. He'll give way to Matt Thaiss behind the dish after catching each of the Angels' first three games of the season while going 3-for-7 with a pair of walks, an RBI and a run scored. Angels manager Ron Washington said in spring training that he's hopeful to get O'Hoppe between 125 to 135 starts at catcher this season, and the 24-year-old is roughly on pace thus far with three starts through four games.... Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Aims for 125-to-135 catcher starts
Angels manager Ron Washington said Thursday that he's hoping to have O'Hoppe make 125-to-135 starts at catcher this season, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. It's a rough estimate by the skipper, and O'Hoppe could potentially make some additional starts at designated hitter. The 24-year-old backstop missed nearly four months with a torn labrum in his left shoulder last season but offered plenty of thump when in the lineup with 14 homers in just 51 games. Nine of those 14 longballs came in September. If he can stay healthy in 2024, O'Hoppe offers breakout potential.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Sitting Saturday
O'Hoppe isn't in the Angels' lineup Saturday against the Twins, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. After belting a two-run homer during Friday's loss, O'Hoppe will get a day to rest while Chad Wallach starts behind the plate and bats eighth.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Pops homer in loss
O'Hoppe went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-3 loss to the Guardians. O'Hoppe has homered three times over 16 games since he returned from a shoulder injury. The catcher's sixth-inning blast got the Angels within a run Friday, but they couldn't pull even. He's up to seven long balls with a poor .223/.285/.446 slash line, 17 RBI and 10 runs scored across 123 plate appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Sitting out Thursday
O'Hoppe is not in the lineup Thursday against the Guardians, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. O'Hoppe had started each of the last three games, during which he went 2-for-11 with a double. He'll get a routine day off, with Chad Wallach stepping into the lineup to hit seventh while serving as the backstop.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Gets rest day
O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Athletics, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports. O'Hoppe will get a breather in the series finale after he went 3-for-20 with a home run and a double while starting at catcher in each of the Halos' last five games. Chad Wallach will fill in for O'Hoppe behind the dish, forming a battery with starting pitcher Tyler Anderson.... See More ... See Less -
Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Sitting out nightcap
O'Hoppe isn't in the Angels' lineup for the nightcap of Wednesday's doubleheader against Cincinnati, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports. After a 1-for-5 effort in the first half of the twin bill, O'Hoppe will get a breather to close out Wednesday's action. Matt Thaiss will take over behind the dish and bat eighth.... See More ... Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Possible waiver wire pickups
O'Hoppe has gone 0 for 9 in two games since returning from a four-month absence for a torn labrum in his non-throwing shoulder, bringing his season stat line down to size, but you should know he was batting .283 with an .886 OPS before then. That's because he was one of the only rookies to give us anything worthwhile in April, and seeing as it was at a weak position, his roster rate might not have dipped far below its 76 percent peak if we had any inkling he was returning. At the time, the injury was presumed to be a season-ender, but now that we know it's not, he has a chance to pick up where he left off. Again, the injury was to his non-throwing shoulder, meaning the one that doesn't supply his power. Meanwhile, he hit .375 (9 for 24) with three doubles on his rehab assignment.... See More ... Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Resting during afternoon game
O'Hoppe will be on the bench for the first half of Saturday's doubleheader against Tampa Bay, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. O'Hoppe returned Friday from a shoulder injury which at one point seemed likely to keep him out for the entire season. The Angels are no doubt thrilled to have the young catcher back in action, but he was never going to be asked to start two games in one day even if he hadn't just returned from injury. Matt Thaiss starts behind the plate in the matinee, but O'Hoppe will likely return to the lineup for the nightcap.... See More ... See Less
