Carlos Tevez is about to hit the jackpot. The Boca Juniors star striker, who has also played for clubs such as Manchester United, Juventus and Manchester City, looks to be on his way to China where he is expected to become the highest paid player in the world.

Tevez is set to earn $762,000 per week on a two-year deal with Shanghai Shenhua per Argentine newspaper Clarin, taking home nearly $80 million if he completes the two-year deal, more than Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi currently make from their club salaries.

As the Independent points out, Ronaldo's current deal gives him a $379,782 wage per week. Messi's is $266,368. That is some serious cash, but Tevez's will double that in China.

But for those shocked by the transfers news, don't be. This is part of a larger trend that has been going on for about a year. China is putting forth so much money to bring players and managers to its league, with plenty there now like Ezequiel Lavezzi and Ramires. Tevez looks to be the next big name to join them.

The Argentine star, who won two titles at Boca Juniors last season, said farewell on Sunday to his beloved Boca Juniors.

Tevez left the field in tears, as it is always hard to say bye to the club you love. He'll soon be able to use those extra bills to wipe away the tears.
