  • Golden Knights' Ivan Barbashev: Puts up assist

Barbashev notched an assist and three hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Barbashev helped out on Jonathan Marchessault's game-tying goal in the first period. Barbashev has earned a helper in each of the first two playoff contests while continuing his role on the top line. The 28-year-old isn't the most gifted natural scorer, but he's in a good situation and should provide depth offense with plenty of hits in the postseason.

  • Golden Knights' Noah Hanifin: Nets go-ahead goal

Hanifin scored a goal in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Hanifin's tally late in the second period stood as the game-winner. The defenseman has three points over two playoff contests as he continues to show why Vegas was interested in trading for him in March. In addition to a top-pairing role at even strength, Hanifin is also seeing time on the first power-play unit and killing penalties, making him arguably the Golden Knights' most important blueliner in the postseason.

  • Golden Knights' Jonathan Marchessault: Earns two points in Game 2 win

Marchessault scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, went plus-3 and logged six hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Marchessault provided a quick response to Jason Robertson's opening goal late in the first period. In the third, Marchessault set up Jack Eichel's empty-netter. With three points, five shots and seven hits over two playoff contests, Marchessault is already in form as a power winger on the Golden Knights' top line.

  • Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Two points in Game 2 win

Eichel scored an empty-net goal on five shots, added an assist, went plus-2 and logged two hits in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Eichel has four points over two playoff outings, and he's earned three goals and six helpers during his six-game point streak. The center set up Jonathan Marchessault's game-tying goal in the first period before adding the empty-netter in the third. Eichel led the 2023 postseason with 26 points to contribute to the Golden Knights' first Stanley Cup championship, and he's off to a great start during their title defense.

  • Golden Knights' Logan Thompson: Steady in Game 2 win

Thompson stopped 20 of 21 shots in Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Thompson has opened the playoffs with a pair of wins. He gave up only a power-play goal to Jason Robertson in the first period, with the Golden Knights scoring the next three tallies for the win. Thompson has allowed seven goals during his four-game winning streak. At this point, the 27-year-old looks to have the starting role, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get the nod for Saturday's Game 3 back in Vegas.

  • Golden Knights' Brendan Brisson: Headlines Black Aces call-ups

Brisson, Grigori Denisenko, Byron Froese, Kaedan Korczak, Dysin Mayo, Mason Morelli, Isaiah Saville, Christoffer Sedoff and Jesper Vikman were recalled from AHL Henderson on Wednesday, per CapFriendly.

Brisson posted eight points in 15 NHL outings this season. While none of these call-ups should be expected to see much playing time during the Golden Knights' playoff run, Brisson likely has the best chance of drawing in should injuries pile up. Henderson failed to qualify for the AHL playoffs, giving Vegas a chance to bolster its reserves.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Hague: Out with lower-body issue

Hague will not be available against the Stars for Game 2 on Wednesday due to a lower-body injury.

Hague was officially classified as day-to-day, so he could still be an option for Game 3 back in Dallas on Saturday. Given the blueliner's 20-game pointless streak, few fantasy players figure to be concerned about the blueliner's status. In his absence, Alec Martinez will return to action after sitting out the previous contest as a healthy scratch.

  • Golden Knights' Logan Thompson: Set to start Wednesday

Thompson is expected to start on the road against Dallas in Game 2 on Wednesday, per Jesse Granger of The Athletic.

Thompson stopped 26 of 29 shots en route to a 4-3 victory over the Stars in Game 1 on Monday. He extended his winning streak to three contests and has allowed just six goals on 79 shots (.924 save percentage) in that span. The 27-year-old goaltender had a 25-14-5 record, 2.70 GAA and .908 save percentage in 46 outings during the regular season.

  • Golden Knights' Nicolas Hague: Sustains undisclosed injury

Hague -- who missed the last eight minutes of Game 1 versus the Stars on Monday -- will be reevaluated prior to Game 2 on Wednesday, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports.

While Hague's potential absence is unlikely to impact the Golden Knights' offensive game after going pointless in his past 20 outings, he does add a level of physicality with 60 hits over that stretch. If Hague can't play Wednesday, coach Bruce Cassidy will have the choice between Alec Martinez or Ben Hutton for the third pairing.

  • Golden Knights' Ivan Barbashev: Contributes helper Monday

Barbashev notched an assist and seven hits in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

Barbashev was limited to one goal over the final seven games of the regular season. The 28-year-old winger continues to play on the top line, but as a more physical forward, his offense is likely to be streaky in that role. He had 45 points, 122 shots on net, 179 hits, 42 PIM and a plus-15 rating in 82 regular-season outings.

  • Golden Knights' Noah Hanifin: Two power-play helpers in win

Hanifin logged two power-play assists, two blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

Hanifin set up goals by Mark Stone and Tomas Hertl in the first period. Since his trade from the Flames, Hanifin has become the Golden Knights' top blueliner. He had 12 points over 19 regular-season outings with Vegas and should see big minutes in all situations during the playoffs.

  • Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Dishes two helpers

Eichel logged two assists, including one on the power play, and five hits in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

Eichel helped out on goals by Mark Stone and Brayden McNabb in this contest. Since March 9, Eichel has been red hot with 12 goals, 14 assists, 94 shots on net and a plus-5 rating over 20 games. The 27-year-old will continue to center the Golden Knights' top line, and he should be capable of generating steady offense in the postseason.

  • Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Pots goal Monday

McNabb scored a goal, added two hits and blocked eight shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

McNabb had a career year with 26 points in 82 regular-season outings. He kept it rolling in the playoff opener, netting the game-winning goal Monday. McNabb is also a force defensively -- he had 148 hits, 207 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating this season, and his team-leading eight blocks in Game 1 set the tone for what he brings to the lineup in a top-four role.

  • Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Tallies on power play

Hertl scored a power-play goal on two shots and added three hits in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

He won a faceoff back to Noah Hanifin and then went to the net, where Hertl cleaned up a rebound from Hanifin's shot. The goal was Hertl's fifth point in seven contests since he returned from a knee injury. The Golden Knights are fully healthy for the playoffs, and Hertl began the postseason on a line with Chandler Stephenson and Mark Stone, which figures to be the team's top two-way forward trio going forward.

  • Golden Knights' Jonathan Marchessault: Scores in Monday's win

Marchessault scored a goal on three shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

Marchessault's goal put the Golden Knights ahead 2-0 in the first period. The winger racked up 11 goals and 19 points over his last 19 regular-season outings, and he had a career-high 42 goals with 27 assists while playing in all 82 contests this regular season. Marchessault should continue to see heavy usage on the first line and on the power play.

  • Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Scores in return

Stone scored a power-play goal and went minus-2 in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 2.

Stone returned from a 26-game absence due to a lacerated spleen, and it took him just 1:23 into the contest to make an impact. He tipped in a Noah Hanifin shot to open the scoring. Stone had 16 goals and 37 assists over 56 regular-season outings, so he could flirt with a point-per-game pace in the playoffs. He also saw 17:09 of ice time Monday -- that's lower than his 19:24 average ice time from the regular season, but it was second most among Vegas forwards in Game 1.

  • Golden Knights' Logan Thompson: Takes down Stars

Thompson stopped 27 of 30 shots in Monday's 4-3 win over the Stars in Game 1.

The Golden Knights led 3-2 after the first period, and Thompson was solid after that. The 27-year-old has won six of his last eight outings, and he's allowed no more than three goals in any of those wins. The Golden Knights alternated goalies late in the regular season, but Thompson may get a run as the starter since Adin Hill struggled in his three appearances leading up to the playoffs. Game 2 is Wednesday in Dallas.
