  • Oilers' Travis Dermott: Inks one-year contract

Dermott signed a one-year, two-way contract with Edmonton on Tuesday. Dermott attended training camp with the Oilers on a professional tryout before landing a two-way agreement with the team. He compiled two goals, five assists, 64 blocked shots and 52 hits across 50 contests with Arizona during the 2023-24 regular season. Dermott will serve as Edmonton's seventh defender going into the 2024-25 campaign.

  • Oilers' Travis Dermott: Scores in loss

Dermott scored a goal on four shots and went minus-2 in Wednesday's 6-2 preseason loss to the Kraken. The Oilers brought a mostly veteran roster to Seattle, with Dermott getting another chance on his tryout. It's unclear if he's done enough to earn a full contract, but that decision is unlikely to be made until Evander Kane (hip/abdomen) is placed on long-term injured reserve. Dermott would likely fill a rotational role on the third pairing in competition with Josh Brown and/or Troy Stecher for playing time.

  • Oilers' Travis Dermott: Inks PTO with Edmonton

Dermott (upper body) signed a professional tryout agreement with the Oilers on Tuesday, Mark Spector of Sportsnet reports. Dermott struggled with seven points in 50 games for Arizona last season. The 27-year-old will head to the Oilers with a chance to win a bottom-pairing job on the blue line, though he begins the preseason behind his fellow former Coyotes in Troy Stecher and Josh Brown.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Season likely over

Dermott (upper body) is not expected to return this season, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports Tuesday. It's been a tough season for Dermott, who has been limited to just 50 games this year in which he generated two goals and five helpers while averaging 17:17 of ice time. The 27-year-old blueliner's underwhelming season could impact his ability to cash in this offseason, as he will become an unrestricted free agent July 1.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Suffers injury Sunday

Dermott (upper body) left Sunday's 5-2 win over San Jose in the second period and didn't return, according to Alan Robinson of NHL.com. There was no update on Dermott's status following the contest, so it's unclear if he will be available for Tuesday's contest against Seattle. If he can't play, the Coyotes will need to bring up a defender from AHL Tucson.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Hands out helper

Dermott notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Red Wings. The helper was Dermott's first point since Feb. 12, though he played just four games out of 15 in that span. The 27-year-old has six points, 32 shots on net, 52 blocked shots, 41 hits and a minus-12 rating through 40 appearances. The Coyotes are carrying only six defensemen currently -- Dermott's place in the lineup is safe as long as that continues, though Josh Brown is likely more at risk of a healthy scratch.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Good to go

Dermott (illness) will play Tuesday against the Wild. Dermott will play on the third pairing following a two-game absence. He has picked up two goals, three assists, 50 blocked shots and 40 hits over 38 outings this season. Victor Soderstrom was assigned to AHL Tucson on Tuesday to make room for Dermott's return to the lineup.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Not expected to play

Dermott (illness) won't be in the lineup Sunday against Chicago, according to Patrick Brown of the Coyotes' official site. Dermott is expected to miss his second straight contest. He has two goals, three assists, 50 blocked shots and 40 hits over 38 outings this season. Victor Soderstrom is projected to remain in the lineup versus the Blackhawks due to Dermott's absence.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Out Friday

Dermott (illness) will not suit up Friday against Detroit. Dermott is considered day-to-day with an illness, so he could return as early as Sunday in Chicago. The 27-year-old hasn't scored a point since Feb. 12, so fantasy managers shouldn't need to track his status.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Iffy versus Red Wings

Dermott (undisclosed) has a minor injury, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. There's not much information available on what Dermott is dealing with but it sounds like he could be a game-time call for Friday's matchup with Detroit. He has five points in 38 games this season.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Produces helper Monday

Dermott logged an assist and two PIM in Monday's 5-3 loss to the Flyers. Dermott has a goal and an assist over his last two games. The 27-year-old defenseman has stayed in a bottom-four role with the Coyotes enjoying nearly full health on the blue line. He's earned five points, 30 shots on net, 47 blocked shots, 31 hits and a minus-11 rating through 35 outings. Dermott's role is a defensive one, so he's not much of an option for fantasy managers.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Deposits goal

Dermott scored a goal on three shots, logged two hits, blocked two shots and added two PIM in Saturday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Predators. Dermott's tally tied the game at 1-1 in the first period. The 27-year-old has scored both of his goals this season over his last seven outings. He's up to four points, 30 shots on net, 37 hits, 46 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 34 appearances. Dermott's usage is likely to remain mostly defensive, so he doesn't make for a strong fantasy option.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Ready to return Thursday

Dermott (lower body) is expected to play Thursday versus Vegas. Dermott has a goal, three points, 14 PIM, 28 hits and 42 blocks in 32 contests this season. He's projected to serve on the second pairing alongside Matt Dumba, who is returning from an upper-body injury. Josh Brown is set to be a healthy scratch.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Not playing Saturday

Dermott (lower body) won't be in the lineup Saturday against Carolina. Dermott has registered three points, 27 shots on goal, 42 blocked shots and 27 hits in 32 games this season. Victor Soderstrom will replace Dermott in Saturday's lineup.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Gets first point since return

Dermott logged an assist, four hits, three blocked shots and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Jets. Demott had gone 12 games without a point since returning from a hand injury Dec. 7. The defenseman appeared to be losing his grip on an everyday job after sitting out as a scratch Jan. 2, but Michael Kesselring came out of the lineup Sunday. Dermott has a meager two helpers with 23 shots on net, 18 hits, 32 blocked shots and a minus-8 rating through 23 appearances, so he doesn't need to be followed closely for fantasy.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Good to play Thursday

Dermott (hand) has been removed from injured reserve and will play Thursday against Philadelphia, according to Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports. This will be Dermott's first game since Nov. 7. He has an assist, five hits and 14 blocks in 10 contests this season. Dermott's return corresponds with Sean Durzi (lower body) exiting the lineup.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Game-time call Thursday

Dermott (hand) will be a game-time decision ahead of Thursday's clash with the Flyers, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Dermott has been sidelined for the club's last 12 contests due to his lingering hand problem. In order to suit up Thursday, Dermott will need to be activated off injured reserve. With Sean Durzi (lower body) also in doubt, the Coyotes could find themselves stretched thin on the blue line against Philadelphia.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Not ready to return

Dermott (hand) will not play Tuesday versus the Lightning, Craig Morgan of PHNX Sports reports. Dermott is nearly recovered from a hand injury that earned him a week-to-week designation earlier in November. The 26-year-old defenseman could be an option to play Thursday versus the Avalanche. The Coyotes have two open roster spots, so they won't need to make a move prior to activating Dermott.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Is week-to-week

The Coyotes announced Thursday that Dermott is week-to-week with an upper-body injury. Dermott has an assist, 13 shots, five hits and 14 blocks in 10 outings this season. Josh Brown, who was a healthy scratch in Arizona's past two games, might play regularly while Dermott is unavailable.

  • Coyotes' Travis Dermott: Out indefinitely

Dermott (undisclosed) is expected to miss some time, Craig Morgan of GoPHNX.com reports Wednesday. Dermott had 15:24 of ice time, picking up one assist versus the Kraken on Tuesday. With Dermott out, Michael Kesselring was called up from AHL Tucson to provide depth on the blue line. A specific timeline for Dermott's return has yet to be established.
