Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Two helpers in big win
Trouba picked up two assists while adding four shots, a team-high five blocked shots, two PIM, a hit and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 6-0 win over the Penguins.
He was a rock in his own end of the ice, helping Igor Shesterkin to his 16th career shutout, and Trouba chipped in offensively with two first-period helpers. The 30-year-old blueliner only managed three goals and 22 points in 69 regular-season games in 2023-24, but his true value lies elsewhere -- Trouba's averaged 205.3 hits and 185.3 blocked shots over the last three seasons.

Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Fills stat sheet Sunday
Trouba logged two assists, nine blocked shots, six PIM and three hits in Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over the Panthers in Game 3.
Trouba helped out on both of Alexis Lafreniere's goals in the contest. After those scoring contributions, Trouba committed the Rangers' last three penalties, but the Panthers couldn't make him pay for those mistakes. The veteran defenseman earned his first multi-point effort of the postseason and now has one goal, six helpers, 12 shots on net, 49 hits, 63 blocks, 20 PIM and a plus-2 rating over 13 playoff outings.

Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Assists on game-winner
Trouba provided the secondary assist on Barclay Goodrow's game-winning goal in overtime in Friday's 2-1 win over Florida.
Trouba helped the Rangers avoid a two-game deficit in the series by starting the play in his own zone that led to the game-winner. The 30-year-old has a point in three of his last five contests after registering an assist Friday. Trouba also added one shot, five blocks, four hits and a plus-1 rating in 26:07 of ice time in Game 2. New York's captain has five points (one goal) with a plus-3 rating in 12 postseason contests.

Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Shorthanded goal in loss
Trouba netted a shorthanded goal in Monday's 4-1 loss to Carolina in Game 5.
Trouba opened the scoring in the second period by firing a wrist shot past Carolina's Frederik Andersen, but that was it for New York's offensive output in the tilt. It was Trouba's first marker of the playoffs. The 30-year-old defenseman also had two shots on goal, three hits and four blocked shots in 18:38 of ice time. Trouba recorded an assist, two shots on goal, six hits and five blocked shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Capitals in Game 4.
Trouba has a helper in each of the last two contests after going 11 games without a point following his return from a lower-body injury at the end of March. The defenseman added 17 hits, 21 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over four playoff outings. Trouba should continue to serve in a shutdown role for the Rangers heading into the second round. He had 22 points, 191 hits and 183 blocked shots over 69 regular-season appearances.

Trouba (lower body) will be back in the lineup Saturday versus the Coyotes, according to Mollie Walker of the New York Post.
Trouba, who will return from an 11-game absence, will probably play alongside K'Andre Miller in Saturday's contest. The 30-year-old Trouba has compiled three goals, 22 points, 114 shots on net, 170 blocked shots and 164 hits in 60 games this season.

Trouba (lower body) remains a question mark heading into Saturday's matchup with Arizona. Coach Peter Laviolette told reporters, "We're still working through some things with him," Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Trouba has been out of action for the Rangers' last 11 contests due to his lower-body injury. Trouba showed off his two-way ability Wednesday, even though the physical blueliner's hit total was lighter than usual. His helper came on the second of New York's empty-netters, as Trouba moved the puck to Artemi Panarin, who lifted the puck into the vacated net from the Rangers' blue line to round out the scoring. Asked to play more of a stay-at-home role in New York, Trouba has come nowhere near his 2018-19 career high of 50 points with the Jets since joining the Rangers, and he's at 21 points through 58 games in 2023-24.

Trouba has served his two-game suspension and will be available against Tampa Bay on Wednesday.
Trouba returns to action mired in an 11-game goal drought dating back to Jan. 4 versus the Blackhawks. Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Handed two-game suspension
Trouba received a two-game suspension Saturday for elbowing Vegas' Pavel Dorofeyev during Friday's game.
The late second-period incident resulted in Dorofeyev exiting the contest with an injury. Trouba will be eligible to return Feb. 7 against Tampa Bay. He has three goals, 19 points, 39 PIM, 112 hits and 142 blocks in 48 outings in 2023-24. With Trouba unavailable, Connor Mackey might draw into the lineup versus Ottawa after being recalled from AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Rangers' Jacob Trouba: Will have disciplinary hearing
Trouba will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday for elbowing the Golden Knights' Pavel Dorofeyev (upper body) on Friday.
No penalty was called when the incident occurred during the second period, but Dorofeyev was unable to return. The NHL Department of Player Safety is expected to release its decision on any disciplinary action for Trouba prior to Saturday's game in Ottawa.
