  • Elijah Cooks: Back to practice squad

Cooks reverted to the Jaguars' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Cooks and fellow practice squad wideout Austin Trammell were each elevated for Week 9 for the first time of the 2024 regular season. While Trammell saw 33 snaps on offense, Cooks had just three and did not record a stat. With Christian Kirk (collarbone) out for the rest of the year, Cooks and Trammell could both be elevated for Week 10 against the Vikings, especially if Gabe Davis (shoulder) remains sidelined.

  • Elijah Cooks: Returns to Jacksonville

The Jaguars signed Cooks to their practice squad Wednesday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports. The San Jose State product didn't make the cut for Jacksonville's initial 53-man roster, but he's found a spot on the practice squad. Cooks appeared in nine games for the Jaguars in 2023, hauling in three of his four targets for 38 yards and no touchdowns while playing 147 total snaps (105 offensive and 42 on special teams).

  • Jaguars' Elijah Cooks: No catches in finale

Cooks wasn't targeted against the Titans in Week 18 and finished the season with three catches for 38 yards in nine games. The rookie UDFA played in nine games but was only active in the passing game once, as all three of his catches came during Week 13 at Tampa Bay. Cooks is likely to fill a similar depth role with the Jaguars in 2024, assuming he retains his roster spot.
