After four months of being a free agent, it looks controversial defensive end Greg Hardy might have finally found a team that's willing to take a chance on him.
According to Pro Football Talk, Hardy was in Jacksonville this week, where he spent two days working out for the Jaguars. Although the Jags didn't offer a deal, that could still happen -- if the team is willing to take the PR hit that would likely come if they sign Hardy.
The former Cowboys defensive end was suspended for four games in 2015 stemming from a domestic violence incident in May 2014 where he was accused of throwing his ex-girlfriend, Nicole Holder, into a bathtub and dragging her by her hair from room to room.
Hardy was convicted in a bench trial; however, Hardy appealed the conviction, and the charges were later dropped in February 2015. The case was dismissed after Holder refused to cooperate with the district attorney.
Hardy came under even more fire after photos showing a badly-bruised Holder were released in November 2015.
Even though Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is willing to deal with almost any kind of distraction, he apparently decided that the Hardy was too much. Back in May, Jones officially announced that the Cowboys wouldn't be re-signing Hardy, who joined Dallas after spending the first five seasons of his career in Carolina.
Due to his legal issues, Hardy has only played in a total of 13 games over the past two seasons.
If Hardy were to sign with the Jaguars, he would join a defense that includes free agent additions Malik Jackson, Tashaun Gipson and Prince Amukamara. The Jags will also be getting back 2015 first-round pick Dante Fowler, who missed all of last season after tearing his ACL in May 2015.
Hardy racked up six sacks in Dallas in 2015, which ranked second on the team.
