Hornets' Grant Williams: Tears meniscus, ACL
Williams will miss the remainder of the season after he was diagnosed Sunday with a torn ACL, meniscus and associated ligaments in his right knee following an MRI, Shams Charania of ESPN reports.
Williams sustained the injury in the fourth quarter of Saturday's loss to the Bucks, when he planted his right leg on a drive to the basket. The 25-year-old will end the season with averages of 10.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.1 steals and 0.8 blocks across 29.9 minutes per game over 16 appearances. Given the severe nature of his injury, Williams could be hard-pressed to return to full health for the start of the 2025-26 season. With Mark Williams (foot) and Nick Richards (ribs) already sidelined with injuries of their own, the Hornets had been leaving more heavily on Grant Williams as an undersized center of late. Grant Williams' absence should lead to increased minutes for Moussa Diabate, Tidjane Salaun and Taj Gibson in the frontcourt until Mark Williams and Richards are able to return.

Hornets' Brandon Miller: Drops 32 on Milwaukee
Miller amassed 32 points (11-23 FG, 6-13 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three assists and one block over 43 minutes during Saturday's 125-119 loss to the Bucks.
The second-year wing delivered his first double-double of the season while topping 30 points for the second straight game. Miller has drained at least three three-pointers in nine of 11 November games, averaging 21.0 points, 5.3 boards, 4.0 assists, 4.0 threes and 1.6 steals, and his usage doesn't figure to shrink any time soon, as LaMelo Ball is the only other healthy and reliable offensive option the Hornets have right now.

Hornets' LaMelo Ball: Erupts for career-high 50
Ball closed with 50 points (17-38 FG, 6-17 3Pt, 10-13 FT), five rebounds, 10 assists and one steal in 40 minutes during Saturday's 125-119 loss to the Bucks.
It was a career-best performance for Ball, topping the 38 points he'd produced twice, including earlier this month against the 76ers. The fifth-year guard has scored more than 30 points in eight of 12 November games, averaging 30.8 points, 6.9 assists, 4.5 boards, 4.5 threes and 1.2 steals. If he can stay healthy -- he's played only 58 games over the last two seasons -- Ball is headed for a massive fantasy campaign.

Hornets' Grant Williams: Helped back to locker room
Williams (leg) went to the locker room in the fourth quarter of Saturday's game against the Bucks, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.
Williams suffered the injury while planting his right leg on a drive to the basket, and he went to the ground after attempting to walk back to the Hornets' bench. He was helped back to the locker room, and given that it's late in the fourth quarter, it doesn't appear that Williams will return to Saturday's contest. Moussa Diabate came in for Williams, and the former should remain on the floor for the rest of the game.

Hornets' Nick Smith: Recalled by parent club
The Hornets recalled Smith from the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Friday.
Smith has appeared in five NBA games this season, averaging 4.6 minutes per game. He'll rejoin the parent club ahead of the Hornets' matchup with the Bucks on Saturday, and he could see some minutes due to Tre Mann's (back) absence.

Hornets' Mark Williams: Remains out for Saturday vs. Bucks
Williams (foot) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Bucks.
Williams has yet to make his season debut due to a sprained left foot, though he has returned to team and group activities during practice. The big man is without a timetable for a return to game action, but his next chance to debut will come Monday against the Magic.

Hornets' Nick Richards: Out vs. Milwaukee
Richards (ribs) is out for Saturday's game against the Bucks.
Richards returned to practice Thursday, but he's still not ready to play and won't suit up to face the Bucks. This means the Hornets will be extremely shorthanded in the frontcourt, as they'll also be without Mark Williams (foot) and Miles Bridges (knee). Richards' next chance to play will come against the Magic on Monday.

Hornets' Tre Mann: Won't play against Milwaukee
Mann is out for Saturday's game versus the Bucks due to lower back soreness, Roderick Boone of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Mann will miss Saturday's contest due to lower back soreness that has already forced him to sit out two of Charlotte's last five outings. In his absence, Seth Curry and Vasilije Micic are candidates to receive increased playing time. Mann's next chance to suit up is Monday's matchup with Orlando.

Hornets' Miles Bridges: Will be re-evaluated in one week
Bridges is out for Saturday's game against the Bucks and will miss at least one more additional game, so he's also out for the Monday matchup against the Magic.
Bridges stepped on a foot late in the loss to the Nets on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and the contact reaggravated his previous right knee injury. As a result, Bridges, who already missed the win over the Pistons, will also miss the team's next two games and will be re-evaluated one week from the injury. That means the earliest he'll be eligible to return will be the Nov. 27 game against the Heat, though that will depend on how he progresses in the coming days. The Hornets will probably remain with Moussa Diabate in the starting lineup as Bridges' replacement, a move that will slide Grant Williams to power forward.

Hornets' Tidjane Salaun: Solid production off bench
Salaun had seven points (2-4 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and two rebounds over 13 minutes during Thursday's 123-121 overtime win over the Pistons.
In his last five games since moving back to the bench, Salaun has averaged 4.8 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 14.8 minutes. However, the rookie forward has been struggling with his efficiency, shooting just 31.6 percent from the field over that span.

Hornets' Seth Curry: Quiet in win Thursday
Curry produced zero points (0-1 FG) and one steal across nine minutes during Thursday's 123-121 overtime win over the Pistons.
Curry played less than 10 minutes for the fifth consecutive contest, during which he has averaged only 1.4 points across 6.8 minutes per game. The sharpshooter saw significant playing time during the first five outings of the regular season, and in that five-game span, he averaged 9.2 points and 3.0 rebounds across 25.6 minutes per game. However, Curry has taken a backseat to the club's young talent off the bench in Tre Mann and Tidjane Salaun.

Hornets' Cody Martin: Scores 15 points Thursday
Martin logged 15 points (6-8 FG, 3-4 3Pt), three rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 36 minutes during Thursday's 123-121 overtime win over the Pistons.
Martin was extremely efficient as a scoring weapon despite coming off the bench, and he finished as the Hornets' third-best offensive threat behind the star duo of Brandon Miller (38 points) and LaMelo Ball (35 points). Martin should continue playing off the bench for the foreseeable future, but the lack of consistency on a game-to-game basis certainly hurts his upside. This was Martin's first game with double-digit points since Nov. 8, when he also scored 15 points in a win over the Pacers.

Hornets' Brandon Miller: Scores career-high 38 points
Miller ended Thursday's 123-121 overtime victory over the Pistons with 38 points (15-26 FG, 8-12 3Pt), seven rebounds, four assists, one block and four steals over 42 minutes.
Miller came through several times when the Hornets needed him the most, and he was virtually unstoppable in overtime, hitting one tough shot after another en route to posting the best scoring output of his career. Miller has scored at least 20 points four times in 2024-25, and all four outings have come in the current month.

Hornets' LaMelo Ball: Goes for 35 points in win
Ball contributed 35 points (12-27 FG, 4-14 3Pt, 7-8 FT), six rebounds, nine assists and one steal over 33 minutes before fouling out of Thursday's 123-121 overtime win over the Pistons.
Ball could've won it in regulation for the Hornets with a floater that bounced off the rim, but the star floor general was nonetheless very impactful. Ball has been playing at a high level of late, and he seems to be taking his scoring prowess to a whole new level. He's scored at least 30 points in five of his last seven appearances.

Hornets' Moussa Diabate: Starting vs. Detroit
Diabate is in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the Pistons.
Miles Bridges (knee) is out for Thursday's contest, meaning Grant Williams will slide to power forward while Diabate will get the nod at center. This will be Diabate's first start of the season. The big man is averaging 4.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in 10 outings in November.
