At the ESPYS in 1993, Jim Valvano gave his famous speech that concluded with the phrase, "Don't give up. Don't ever give up."
On Wednesday night's show, Craig Sager drew inspiration from Valvano while delivering a heart-warming and tear-inducing speech of his own after receiving the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance.
The longtime sports reporter, who has been battling leukemia, said that he regularly listens to Valvano's speech to keep himself going.
There's no doubt that those fighting cancer -- along with their family and friends -- will draw inspiration from Sager's speech for years to come.
