With Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Stephen Curry on their roster, the Golden State Warriors are heavily favored to win the NBA championship next season. How great the Warriors truly become is obviously still undetermined, but the expectations are quite high for Golden State.
But can the Warriors break the single-season wins record they set last season? According to the simulations of one NBA front office, not only will the Warriors surpass 73 wins, their sheer win total essentially broke the computer's simulation.
From SI's Lee Jenkins:
One NBA front office ran simulations, based on player values, for the upcoming season. Cleveland came out with 64 wins, second best in the league. Golden State came out with 83, better than undefeated. They broke the system.
The simulation likely doesn't factor a player getting injured, which could happen, but on face value the Warriors breaking "the system" is pretty wild. Of course this is just a simulation and not real life, so we will just have to wait and see how Golden State's actually fares next season.
